View Full Version : A FAQ would be nice...

Hi, I just got into the WoW beta at the start of phase 3. I had heard about player made interface mods being widely available, and I was eventually led here from the forums.
The problem is, if I didn't know any better, I would have no idea what Cosmos was. There is no FAQ on the site, no readme with the download, no news that the phase 3 version is out, no description whatsoever. Am I blind or something? A general FAQ section would be greatly appreciated.
I can't answer for anyone but myself (and I am not a part of the Cosmos team), but I think the major reason for there not being a FAQ (or, indeed, much documentation at all) is because Cosmos is still under development (and rather rapid development at that).
Also, a manual - or any documentation - quickly becomes quite a chore to update, and any inconsistencies in the manual becomes the subject of vocal, negative feedback. I've heard rumours about some form of documentation being written by a hardworking gnome, but no more than that.
Some optimists claim that Cosmos is so easy to use it needs no documentation. :)

Sarf is correct.. Cosmos literally changes Hourly.. Something is updated, added removed, etc.
I am sure at final release.. when Blizzard decides what stays and what goes... there will be a changelog and/or faq/documentation.
Until then.. just have to kinda play around with it. If you have any questions.. you can ask here... or on the Blizzard UI forums. Someone will be happy to answer.

umm... an FAQ would be VERY nice. until I saw this thread I had no clue what cosmos was. i thought this was another "hacked wow server" site and cosmos was a loader or something.

Well, even if they couldn't do a FAQ, a simple paragraph on the main page with a short description of what Cosmos is, and maybe a bulleted list of a few of the things it adds would be sufficient for me.

We've got someone working on documentation right now. :-)
