I have seen a lot of people talk about wanting to log stuff on your sites, or just in general. It may be nice to just log it to a test file in some kind of format, like xml. Then someone can make ways to view that data for people who would like to. I volunteer myself to build the web stuff, but I do think it would be cool to log as much as you can if the user wants it. I guess what they do with it after that is up to them, just make sure they know the EULA for beta.

Like I said, I would volunteer to build that stuff with ya, do it for a living and was lead dev on a MMORPG for a few years. Let me knwo :)

Currently, doing any logging is all but impossible since we lack any file access. The only thing we could do (right now) is to log a few lines in the CVars and then use an external program to remove those lines from the Config.wtf file and put them somewhere else. As the available space is rather limited, however, we'd only be able to log around ten to thirty lines before the user would have to log out.

With the addition of other ways of saving stuff, it would be possible to save much more - however the problem is that there is still a limit, and that the log would most probably exceed that limit sooner or later.

The best solution would be for us to be able to log stuff to a particular file or a particular directory, but such capability has not been part of Blizzards upcoming changes so far.
