sidebars, more buttons?

Perhaps this has already been implemented and there's a way to make it work with the current build but is there a way to make the sidebars have more buttons or a selected amount of buttons. Like in the cosmos options be able to pick how many buttons you want in the left sidebar and how many you want in the right sidebar. Also would there be any way to scale them down a bit as well to like 75% of their current size

I would also like to see a Cosmos option to change between sidebar sizes. I could imagine 4/6/8/10 being useful, or something like that. As far as I know, the extra bars are hard-coded and simply borrow from the action bar. The code could be done but I'm not sure what it would be like :)
