So far I am very impressed with Cosmos, and i look forward to the final version. Here are some things that I feel could be a helpful addition.

1) Target-Tell
I think it would be very useful if you could make a hotkey that is used to automaticallt /tell whatever is targeted. It is simply "/t %t" but i dont know how to set it as a hotkey (not hotbar).

2)Who List Tell
I think it woudl be very useful if there was a right-click option to tell messages to chracters on the who list rather then having to type out their names.

3)Autofill Item/Location
I thin it would be useful to have and autofill for certain key places and items. It would save time from having to type them out fully -- FFXI used this but i think they did it so English speaking people could talk to Japanese players. But it was still useful, but i cant fully describe it.

4)Hotbars with pets
With the pet hotbar added, on top of the 2nd bar, it casues some clutter on the last line of the chat.

5)Quest Compare
I was thinking of an option that compares the quests of all the party members. This way the members dont ahve to figure out who has what quest and who doesnt have what quest. Also, it becomes really useful when you have more then two people in your group becasue it takes forever for everyone to say which quests they that everyone else has.

Just some inpu ton my part, but who knows maybe blizzard has plans to put some of these into the game for retail. Anywho, good job with COSMOS and keep up the good work!

EDIT: corrected my spelling errors

Thanks for your suggestions!

You mean it should automatically fill your chat edit box with "/tell name " ?

That is quite a reasonable request. I'll try to create a mod which does this ASAP. <WHAM> <THUD> <SMACK> <BOING> <MOOOOO>

Done.

Check it out (http://www.cosmosui.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=269). Unzip the zip file you find into your WoW directory and use the new key binding it gives you.

2)Who List Tell
I think it woudl be very useful if there was a right-click option to tell messages to chracters on the who list rather then having to type out their names.
This has already been done by a non-Cosmos affiliated coder, however, I've failed to get a Cosmos developer interested enough to implement it (as far as I know). Prod me a bit more and I'll write up something on the Bugzilla database about it. :)

3)Autofill Item/Location
I thin it would be useful to have and autofill for certain key places and items. It would save time from having to type them out fully -- FFXI used this but i think they did it so English speaking people could talk to Japanese players. But it was still useful, but i cant fully describe it.
You mean, basically have a list of words that you can autocomplete (using tab or some other key) ?

This could be done. Of course, I could polish up ChatFilter and you could simply use abbreviations, but that might get clunky...

4)Hotbars with pets
With the pet hotbar added, on top of the 2nd bar, it casues some clutter on the last line of the chat.
Known bug. Unfortunately, our chief developer and all around head honcho, AlexanderYoshi, has been extremely busy at work the last 2 weeks. Since he's the one saddled with doing (most of) the un-funny stuff this hasn't been fixed yet. You can fix it yourself by enabling advanced chat and moving the chat windows (search around on these forums for a howto) but this is not a good fix for the end-user.

This is already in Cosmos (called "Quest Share") however, due to Alex being busy, the chat channels that Cosmos uses to communicate are currently NOT functioning very well (err... at all) so this is probably "in abeyance", waiting our hero's return.

Just some input on my part, but who knows maybe blizzard has plans to put some of these into the game for retail. Anywho, good job with COSMOS and keep up the good work!
Heh... I think Blizzard has the opinion that "if it can be done by others, let it be done and maintained by others" ... at least, for now.

EXCEPTION, n. A thing which takes the liberty to differ from other things of its class, as an honest man, a truthful woman, etc. "The exception proves the rule" is an expression constantly upon the lips of the ignorant, who parrot it from one another with never a thought of its absurdity. In the Latin, "_Exceptio probat regulam_" means that the exception _tests_ the rule, puts it to the proof, not _confirms_ it. The malefactor who drew the meaning from this excellent dictum and substituted a contrary one of his own exerted an evil power which appears to be immortal.

Prod, Prod, Prod! hehehe

Exactly! Tab would be a perfect key aswell.

I am very pleased with this project so far, and it made my 7-day WoW experience *that much more enjoyable. Hope everything goes well.

Hmm... I'll look at it some other time. It's a good idea, but the number of strings it would need to remember would be quite a few.

Thanks for the compliment on behalf of the Cosmos team! :)
