View Full Version : Addon: MainMenuBarRepositioner v0.04
Hiya!
Should work with 1.1.1 now. Download new version.
Thanks to a suggestion (http://www.cosmosui.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=414) from Oof here on the forums, I've created an AddOn which allows you to reposition the main menu bar to one of three locations - bottom left, bottom middle (default) and bottom right.
You can find the AddOn here:
http://www.fukt.bth.se/~k/wow/scripts/MainMenuBarRepositioner/
It should be possible to run it with and without Cosmos.
The slash command it supports is, among many, /mainmenubarpositionchange <POSITION>, where position is either left, right or middle (middle can be replaced with default and restore as well).
This AddOn has been tested and found to be working with patch 0.1.0 (aka 0.13).

Well, that was quick, thanks alot.
Eager to test it once the servers are up.
I should have logged in first, shouldn't I? ;)
Thanks again.
You're welcome! :)
By the way, don't expect it work immediately - I usually need to at least run the AddOn once or twice to get the small crinkly bugs out (I use to forget a "then" here, and a misplaced paranthesis there...), however, as the actual code was not very hard to do, it should not be a very long process.
In fact, the code could well fit into a macro, however, making it save and restore the state of your main menu bar is what is the problem... as is presenting the user with a good way to set up his UI.

Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced.
The servers just came back up, so I was able to give it a try.
Starting the game through cosmos would delete the files in the addon folder for this mod, so I started WoW normally.
I'm getting the follwing error:
String: Interface\AddOns\MainMenuBarRepositioner\MainMenuB arRepositione...
Line: 160
Count: 1
Error: unexpected symbol near `)'
--------------------------------------------------
String: MainMenuBarRepositionerFrame:OnLoad
Line: 1
Count: 1
Error: attempt to call global `MainMenuBarRepositioner_OnLoad' (a nil value)
All right, starting to debug it myself (had too much fun grouping!).
Thanks!

DELEGATION, n. In American politics, an article of merchandise that comes in sets.
Fixed it. It had 2 bugs, one that you detected and the other which would've made the position slightly off... anyhow, it's fixed and up and running now.
Good luck with it!

Are part-time band leaders semiconductors?
Works like a charm, thank you very much.
Is there any way to prevent the cosmos patcher to delete the files every time I run it?
Yes. For each file in the MainMenuBarRepositioner directory, add a file named "filename.nopatch", for example "localization.lua.nopatch".
That'll tell the patcher to ignore the file.

I used to be self-actualized, now I'm just confused.
Any chance of putting this back into Cosmos or updating it to make it work with the latest patch, Sarf? I really miss it.
Doesn't version 0.03 work for you?
Sorry I didn't update the text.

Remember, it's the thought that counts. Think money.
My bad, I didn't check for an update in your post. Silly me, I apologise.
Keep up the great work.
Hehe... I didn't update the post until you mentioned it. I always (99% of the time) update my post well after I have updated the files available (to make them available to select testers in some cases).

Thanks in advance

This feature quit working for me after the latest patch to WoW. Is there any plans to fix it, or am I doing something wrong. Whenever I type in the command to move it, I get the message stating how to look for help....like its an unrecognized command now.
Thanks
Update its .toc file.

Heya Sarf -
I'm wondering if it's possible to give this mod an option to display the bar Vertically on either side of the screen.
Ideally, options to make the bar Vertical or Horizontal, dock it to left or right of the screen, resize the buttons (not the whole UI via scaling), ability to set it vertically and dock to left/right AND be able to move it myself up & down would be perfect. Basically put it in a moveable capsule and give the docking and vertical/horizontal options :P
The whole left side of my screen is bare (no mods there) since I use MiniGroup, and moved that to the Right side of my screen, ala DAoC. If i could mvoe the main bar to the left vertical, i could make a little more room on the bottom.
And btw, thanks for all your work on the mods. I'm on your site very frequently downloading and trying out all your work =)

here's a link to my previous interface setup:
http://tinypic.com/1rxi11
in that SS i was using Flexbar (shown vertical, on left), but the capability to replace the default bottombar with Flexbar just isn't fully there yet. The buttons grey out at weird times, switching targets causes a greyed out button to stay greyed out, and if button 3 on bar2 (shift2) was greyed out, and i switch to bar4(shift-4), button3 on bar4 would stay greyed out no matter what was in that slot. Currently no workarounds for that, so I went back to the default bottombar.
I'm using a HUGE compilation of mods that I keep up to date manually, and even some that I have customized a bit from default.
Cosmos for the base package (with some mods removed/disabled)
Gypsy
Telos
MozzBuffTimers
Flexbar for extra buttons
(bibbarmod shown there but since deleted when i went back to the default bottombar)
Minigroup
aioi / lootlink / gatherer / all the popular stuff :)
Anyway, i'm hopin Sarf sees this post and says to himself "Hey that's an easy, fast code change so i'll do it right away!" Lol.
Thanks for reading.

in case anyone is monitoring this, i found a mod that allows you to move any/all aspects of the bottom bar, and more.
http://curse-gaming.com/mod.php?addid=601
MoveAnything!
allows me to go vertical with my bar, and put it anywhere on the screen i want. well done ;)
