Well this is an odd one.

Targetdistance droped the framerate down to like 7fps .. so I removed targetdistance completely.

However even with that gone, there appears to be a'buildup' of something that puts a huge hit on framerate. Whats really odd is the FPS meter doesn't accuratlely show it.

I still show between 48 and 56 fps when this bug occurs but even standing still facing a wall.. the FPS is jumping like crazy as if there were lots of things on the screen. (I tested this out in the badlands and ironforge for comparison).

The best way to describe this bug would be to say the screen 'jerks' , it sort of stutters when you move. Standing still everything looks fine, except NPCs who also seem to 'jerk'.

If i remove cosmos entirely, everything is fine.

If i perform a /reloadui , everything is fine for a short time (between 30sec and 5 min it seems).

I've started disabling options in cosmos to track it down, but having no luck.

Once servers come back up, i'm going to remove everything that has any sort of 'calculate over time' feature (since i think that's where the bug is) and see what happens. I've a feeling it's either the Combat Stats or Clock that might be the culprit.

Will keep you posted.

Thanks for your bug report - I haven't seen this myself, but... keep us posted!

Found it!

Good old Quest Minion.

I'm not sure why.. i'll leave that to you guys. But as soon as it starts getting 'stuttery' if i close quest minion, it frees it up immediatly. (Pressing the X in the corner of the minion window)

I can even turn quest minion back on (rechecking box in quest menu) and i'm fine for a while.

The duration seems random too. Sometimes i'm fine for 30 minutes, others 30 seconds. I tried doing it while i was gaining quest items , and not.. can't seem to pin it down further.

But.. for now when it happens, i just turn off minion and restart it.

Least it's not a full /reloadui :)

vjeux has been notified.

Would you uncheck "Fade quest objectives" and see if there's any difference?

Ok i tested this for a bit out in badlands..

and it seems that turning off that function did the trick. I no longer was getting any stuttering and played for probalby an hour or so with Questminion running. Even did a few quests.

I turned back on Combat Stats and Clock as well and so far no more problems.

Bleh.

I can't understand how Fade quest objectives can cause such a slowdown. :(

Anyhow... that's the only option that does stuff in the OnUpdate function, so that should help.

hiya, i got the same "shuttering" problem when using cosmos.

but even if i uncheck all the options in the questminion tap, it doesnt stop.

as described here, reloadui does the trick for a few minutes, but then its shuttering again.

is there another way to totaly disable questminion i dont know of? else it seems that questminion is not the only source of that bug.

If you uncheck the QuestMinion check button in the Quest Log, it shouldn't do anything... however, vjeux is working on a new and improved version of QM.

Or you can simply delete the QuestMinion folder.
