Found in the german beta forums. Trying to explain some of the important stuff in the quote...

- to start the notepad use /jt or /jotter ... or make a keybind in the options.
- the text gets saved when you leave WoW :: means, when it crashes the Text is lost - I guess
- to enforce saving of the text you can reload the ui with "/console reloadui" (or with Cosmos Reload UI command i think - I can't test it without EuroBeta or North America Final account bah) ;)
- standard copy&paste functions work in the notepad window

Für alle, die sich gerne Notizen im Spiel machen möchten, gibt es jetzt ein AddOn namens Jotter.
Es verhält sich wie ein einfacher Texteditor, d.h. der Text lässt sich markieren, einfügen und ausschneiden.
Die Installation erfolgt wie bei AddOns üblich: Den Ordner ins WoW\Inferface\AddOns Verzeichnis kopieren
und losgehts! Die Notizen werden dauerhaft zusammen mit den Spieleinstellungen auf der Festplatte gespeichert,
wenn der Spieler sich ausloggt. Um ein Speichern zu erzwingen, bietet sich bislang nur ein Workaround an:
In der Chat-Konsole gibt man </console reloadui> (ohne die spitzen Klammern) ein. Damit wird ein Neuladen
des User-Interface erzwungen, was ein Speichern der Spieleinstellungen und damit der Notizen zur Folge hat.

Im Textfenster funktionieren die gleichen Kommandos wie im Mail-Fenster:
STRG-C kopiert Text in die Zwischenablage
STRG-V fügt Text aus der Zwischenbalge ein
STRG-A markiert den gesamten Text

Um Jotter zu öffnen oder zu schliessen gibt man entweder </jotter> oder </jt> in der Chat-Konsole ein oder man
legt sich eine Tastenverknüpfung im Optionen-Menü an. Ich benutze die Taste 'J' weil sie mit nichts anderem Verknüpft ist
und weil es treffend ist.

Unter http://www.wow.habiworld.de könnt ihr Jotter für den Client 1.1.1 herunterladen.

Dies ist mein erstes AddOn, daher lasst Milde mit mir walten, wenn irgendwas nicht so sein sollte wie ihr es euch vorstellt.

Jotter - an ingame notebook

For all of you who would like to store ingame notices there's an addon named Jotter available.
It behaves much like a simple texteditor what means that text can be marked, pasted and cutted.
Installation takes place like usual: copy the folder to your WoW\Interface\AddOns folder and off you go.
Notices are stored permanent on the harddisk along with game options whenever you log off. To force
saving theres only a workaround yet: type </console reloadui> (without the angle brackets) on the chat console.
So reloading the user interface is enforced, what results in storing the game options and your notices.

The textwindow supports the same commands like the mail window:
STRG-C copy text to clipboard
STRG-V paste text from clipboard
STRG-A mark the whole text

To open/close Jotter you can either type </jotter> or </jt> on the chat console or configure a key binding
in the options menue. I use the 'J' key as it isn't linked to anything else and it's to the point.

This is my first addon so exercise mildness if anything is not working the way you expect it.
