Deleting AddOn folders permanently? RE: Patching

In the past I've had some Cosmos AddOns lag, bug or crash my machine and the only thing that worked was for me to delete their AddOn folders.

I use the PopBar, the Clock, QuickLoot, target info on mouse hover, and that's about it; I've successfully deleted many folders in the past, but they all keep coming back when I patch Cosmos.

Is there a way to patch only the components I have currently installed / enabled?

Erhm... you might be able to tell the patcher to ignore directories by adding AddOnIdonotWant.nopatch, so for example, AlarmClock.nopatch would prevent AlarmClock from being patched.

Hmm, nope, Cosmos sees a directory is missing and recreates it. :(

Yeah, but does it create the files inside?

A better solution is probably to just create AddOnName\AddOnName.toc.nopatch and then change the Interface number inside the .toc file to 1.

Tried both techniques (add in .nopatch file, or rename to .toc.nopatch and set the ver to 1), also tried .toc with ver set to 1, etc. Patcher always replaces deleted files. Any other suggestions? Or just delete em after each patch? How about setting directories to read-only? :) nope... that didn't work either.

Very cool program btw.

Not really a fix, but can't you copy the AddOns to a folder on your pc somewhere so when it patches and adds all the extra things you dont want you can simply wipe the dir and copy the ones you want back in?
