Any idea on how to move the Equipment Buff Display icon?
Not easily, the first buff is attached to the chat frame and each additional buff is attached to the previous buff.
We could write code that would reattach it dynamically, but to do this we'd need suggestions where the item buffs should end up.
Note that Cosmos is made to work on all resolutions, albeit poorly. :)
Suggestions are welcome, though.

Is there any way to attach it to it's own window? Or are you limited to actual windows that exist in wow?
If you are stuck with existing windows, perhaps attach it to the minimap at the bottom, something like the current improved buff window does. Or a simple switch command which would allow you to at least choose "Left side of Chat" , "Right Side of chat", and perhaps a "Below Chat" if people should have their chats at the top.

I'd like it if you could move it around using a pair of those x-y drag bars. If that's too hard to do, putting it right under your normal buffs, to the left of the minimap would be nice.
Also, if you need to save space, why not use the icon for the spell/effect instead of the weapon icon (ergo, you'd need one icon for each spell/effect). In addition, remove the duration text on default and make it so that you only see the duration when you mouseOver it, like normal buffs.
Thanks
Well... I don't know if ItemBuff actually has a window of its own.
It could be made into its own window.
Doing left/right side alignment choices could be done. Below chat is rather easy, too.
darkInertia, a lot of people wanted the ItemBuff just to see how long time is left on their item buffs... to remove that feature and require the user to mouse over them is kind of counterintuitive.
The problem with putting the item buffs under the minimap is that it would interfere with the improved buff mod and/or have to deal with the improved buff mod.

so, i just figured out that the item buff window is tied to the general chat window; i usually pull the combat apart from, and stick it on top of, the general chat window (which is why the equipment buff is awkward). Another suggestion is to have it bind (and follow) the combat window rather than the general chat window

I too like to put my combat chat above general and had the same issue with the buff icon being in a poor location.
What I did was open up the ItemBuff.xml file, find the tags for 'Frame name = ItemBuffBar'. Within this tag set are 'Anchor' tags with values TOPLEFT. Below that are tags labeled 'Offset' which contains an 'AbsDimension' with initial values of x=0 and y=20. If you adjust these values you can move the starting position of the ItemBuff icon around. I found that values of x=0 and y=150 worked well for me. Oh and you may have to put a ItemBuff.xml.prepatch file in the base WoW directory so Cosmos doesn't overwrite it everytime you patch.
Its kind of a hack job but I hope this helps and isn't too confusing.

I too think that the placement of those "buffs" is in a horrible spot.
I actually don't care at all about having those shown... can I just delete the addOn folder for that add on and have those go away?

well, imo ideally would be a movable frame (if technically possible) but of greater use to me would be to use the icon of the buff item rather than the weapon, and a short timer format like the player buffs.
so you'd have an icon for the particular poison or sharpening stone, with a MM:SS next to it.
i too however, have the bug which puts them in the middle of the chat frame. i just turned off the feature for now. :(
