Hi, I installed Cosmos and now I can't use /1 for general chat, nor any other slash number for chat selection. However, unlike a previous post, /p and /s and /g work fine. Can anyone offer some help here, cause I love cosmos other then this bug :D

also, it wouldn't be a problem for me if you can somehow get rid of anything cosmos does to chat, and use the rest. It seems to be able to pick and choose which part of cosmos you want in some cases. Thanks in advance

There should be a option in the "Cosmos Options" to turn Cosmos chat features off, but I can't help with the rest.

The following steps might help you:

1) exit wow
2) in your World of Warcraft Directory delete the directories called 'wdb' and 'wtf' (notice that this will delete all settings: resolution, keybindings, actionbars, etc)
3) restart wow

if this does no work, repeat steps 1 & 2, then
2b) delete you Interface directory
2c) install a fresh version of Cosmos (either through the autopatcher - cosmos***** or by downloading a zipped distribution)
and restart wow.

This *should* fix you chat problems with cosmos.

2) in your World of Warcraft Directory delete the directories called 'wdb' and 'wtf' (notice that this will delete all settings: resolution, keybindings, actionbars, etc)

Also all the notes you placed on the map (if you have any).... (make a backup of SavedVariables.lua in WTF\Account\<Accountname>)

I am having this exact issue :) /1 does nothing at all.

Is it still necessary to delete those folders? Or has this been addressed in a new version?

If /1 does not work but loads of other chat commands do, it's not Cosmos' fault.

Typing in /leave general and /join general should work according to other users.

I don't buy that sarf, sorry. I haven't had a problem with talking in /1 since you gave me the code to change in sidebar.lua, then this morning I actually set Cosmos***** to auto-update. I can't talk in general again.

Additionally, by making the same change in code that you detailed to me previously HERE (http://www.cosmosui.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1045) and reloading my UI, I can now type in general again. Could you add that code change to SideBarButton.lua to the auto-update version?

Yes... the code I gave to fix SideBar.lua fixed your chat problem previously, and now that you have taken home the latest official Alpha release it does not work?

And this is... surprising to you?

Note that the patcher probably REMOVED the fix to SideBar that you made. The only instance I personally have heard of /1 stopping to work has been when a) NOTHING works in the chat due to ChatFrame.lua being borked or b) when the general chat only stopped working due to borked chat-cache.txt file.

If your current revision number, available through the /cversion command (which you may or may not be able to access) is less than 165, I recommend you to download my latest update from here:
http://www.fukt.bth.se/~k/wow/cosmos/oldcosmos/

I would STILL recommend anyone who ONLY experiences problems with /1 to use /leave general, /join general.

Due to the 24 hour rule, it takes a VERY long time for patches to get out to users. I am trying to find a better solution, but with most of the devs playing the game, and a few MIA...

NOTE:
If you use my updates, and then patch using the patcher may (currently, you WILL) end up with an older revision of Cosmos, without the new fixes and features of my more recent snapshots.
Consider my Cosmos snapshots "pre-Alpha" versions - some fixes, some new bugs, not compatible with "official" Cosmos patcher at this time.
Eventually, the Cosmos patcher will contain the same stuff as my snapshots do, but that will take time.
