I first downloaded just the cosmos***** file because I thought that was all I needed, it ran and gave me an error saying patch list was too long, but it still let me configure a few options, one of which was windowed mode, which I turned on.

I then downloaded the full beta zip file, which it seems is the correct way to do it and got cosmos installed fine. The only problem is that I can't turn off windowed mode now, even if I uncheck the box under Configure when I run cosmos*****.

Is there any way to get rid of windowed mode now that i have turned it on. It lags my computer badly and I can't play.

I tried uninstalling cosmos but I'm still stuck in windowed mode. If anyone could help me out, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks! -bod

I'm not sure if there is a more elegant approach but I found that editing the config.wtf file in the WTF directory allowed me to get rid of windowed mode. I think there was a variable gxWin="1" or something simiilar and I set it to ="0"

(the option got erased from the file after I started warcraft so I can't see what the exact name was).

If anyone else has this problem, you might try this.

Ever noticed that nice 'windowed' checkbox in the 'Video Options' of WoW? ;)

But beware, if you launch WoW though the cosmos autopatcher, you should make sure to untag the 'windowed' checkbox there as well, as this will override wow's internal settings on launch.

Note that Cosmos***** will only "activate" windowed mode, it will not turn it off.
