Ultra smart auto targeting! (idea)

I have this idea for a script and i was wondering if it could be made.

Lets say you have a 2 man team and 1 monster. Your team mate is fighting while you stand back. you have your team mate targeted and you cast a healing spell as normal, but then you cast an offensive spell and it automatically assists your target!

Same way if you have a MOB targeted and you cast a healing spell it would automatically assist the MOB and heal its target.

This would basically work the same way as /autotarget from some other guy (cant remember name) while soloing.

So offensive spell, check if target is hostile, if not assist target and cast.

Defensive spell (heal etc.) check if target is friendly, if not assist target and cast.

Can it be done?

I think that the assist thing changes the target, though.

in shadowbane(game),you can press <home>key target enemy(monster), press again target next enemy and so on.
and you can press <ins>key target a player,press again you target next player.
i like this function.

Bah - this function sucks ass though, as it only targets mobs who are practically ON TOP of you.

I never use it.

In Anarchy Online, the Tab key select nearest enemy function was teh win, in WoW, it simply sucks. It needs more range or something. ;\

In the newest cosmos options, there's an option to increase that range (requires restart of WoW though).

Really? Where can this option be found. I've never seen it and as a warlock it would be VERY usefull to be able to target from at least my spell range!

Actually, its even easier than you think... if you target a friendly and cast a spell on him, al you have to do is hit the "attack" button and it automatically assists your target... or attacks the nearest enemy. I think it only works when you atack with a mina weapon.. <not wands, or abilites. >

Trying to bring attention to this...that addon, Increase Target Distance, does not seem to be working. Always says WoW needs to be restarted. Any ideas Sarf?
