I, being a warrior, WANT THIS.. so, i go to download and see - its 2 months old. Any plans on updates? PLEASE?? hehe
I will do my best to try and update it, but im not at all familiar with the way these scripts work, so i could get quite ugly.
IF i get anything goin, Ill send it to ya.
Uhm... I'll see. It's not against the TOS or anything, but I think it could make Blizzard decide to stop us from customizing the UI to the great extent that we can do now.
UPDATE:
dreamss is now the maintainer of this addon. He has SVN access. I'll throw up a link to a website of his choosing when he has gotten familiar with the code and made the necessary 1.8.0 changes. :)

Actually the one I grabbed and have been modifying has rogue, warrior, and shaman. I have not tested the warrior one past level 2, but it worked for heroic strike for me. I have fiddled around with the rogue one alot, makign some minor midifications, and gaering it more towards a combat rogue.

OneHitWonder is now online in a new version.
There are still some issues, however... it movebuffs the player, will keep up buffs for some classes (mage, paladin, priest, druid) when you OneHitWonder.
To use it... go into key bindings, visit the OneHitWonder thingy, bind a key to OneHitWonder, press OK, then go reckless with it.
It by default tries to buff the person you click on if you are a buff-capable class (will not overwrite buffs).
Note that the warrior part is OLD. It's still trying to pummel, which no longer is possible. I'll rewrite this code someday, when I get access to a warrior.

Glad to see your working on this again Sarf, most the rogues in my guild are using it.
A few suggestions for the rogue portion:
Save up a few more CP, I think many of the return values where a tad low, so I bumped them up a little.
I changed the ambush/bs to Cheapshot, maybe you can look into checking mainhand for weapontype, or even allowing a parameter to determine dagger vs sword/mace opener.
Bugs:
- Doesn't seem to kick/parry in PvP like it should, I really do not understand because it seems that the text input would be the same, thus trigger the event just fine.
Also I added a ranged attack in mine, really just casts "shoot bow" if in bow range.
There was a bug with some of the text formatting in the messages that printed when you where going to kick/pummel, I just removed the output, since it really wasnt needed.
I would love to see you pick this up again, its definatly my favorite mod.

Good morning..
1. Ok, downloaded 0.06, got it installed to the addons dir, no problems.
Load wow, options, keybinds... No option.. I dont see anything for OneHitWonder in the Keybinds section. Maybe im blind?
2. I manually updated OneHitWonder_Warrior_lua and changed the "Pummel" to "Sunder Armor".
As i stated before, im new to this, so if I screwup, forgive..
Ill mess around some more today, to see if I can figure out how to improve/use the Warrior part.

I've unzipped this into my wow directory... but I'm not too sure what to do next. Pardon my newbie-ness but this is the first AddOn I've tried to install. Looking at my Cosmos interface, I don't see any reference to it.
Spare a brain cell?

Yes there is no readme included with sarf's version, I have been updating this personally because sarf put it on the shelf for a bit.

Is the current version of cosmos with onehitwonder (my version in it), if sarf has picked it back up I would suggest his version though he is much better at this.

Well I picked this up today and have been trying it out. So far it is cool but I have some questions.
How does it "decide" whether or not to do different special's. I understand the kick portion and such but the change of say slice and dice compaired to doing an eviscerate is about the only thing I can't quite figuire out how it works out the perameters.
Thanks though this is a great mod/macro that just helps out a bit with the ease of it.
Slice & Dice = if mob has high health (so the buff will have time to run its course). Evisc if mob low on health or you already have Slice & Dice active.

Ah gotcha makes sense. Yea the only problem I have is ambush isn't really that great of an opener on armored mobs or in pvp on same level players. Should have it use cheapshot when in heavyarmor mode.
Sure... but I didn't have Cheap Shot on my level 23 Undead Rogue... hence the lack of Cheap Shotting in OHW. :)

I want to modify Onehitwonder to do the following and wonder if any of you coding gurus mught take me under your wing and mentor me through it. mabye PM me if the open forums are not the right place for this.
I downloaded the zip file and extracted it I m looking over it and
trying to figure out how this would alow me to accomplish my goal.
My goal is to bind an aspect and a /cast attack for that aspect into one key stroke.
here is how I would use the ability in game.
as a lvl 30 huhnter I would allways have either no aspect or aspect of
the cheatah active until I was ready for combat or to hide.
depending on the nature of combat I would:
A: switch to aspect of the hawk and upon switching to this aspect the addon would pause 1 sec then /cast concussive shot at a targeted enemy if nothing was target i would imagine that you would get the message "there is nothing to attack"
-or -
B: switch to aspect of the monkey and upon switching to this aspect the addon would pause 1 sec then /cast wing clip on a targeted enemy.
-or- because im NE
C: switch to aspect of the beast and upon swtiching to that aspect the addon would pause 1 sec then /cast shadow meld
I notice that the 3 .lua's are created allready for warrior rouge or shamen.
which of these 3 would you suggest I look to for building blocks to acomplsh my goals ?

What you ask for is a bit more complex than what is done currently in OHW.
You should check out the rogue combat part... that should give you some info on how to check for buffs (which is basically what aspects do).
Create a combat flow that looks like this:
IF (not correct aspect ) CAST aspect (return)
IF ( correct aspect ) and ( wanted ability/spell is ready ) CAST ability/spell

hi, i am doing a little bit of work to bring ohw up to date on the warrior side. I noticed the lack of a few of the more recent skills and I have started adding them in.
I had a question about the textures.
In the warrior lua the textures are mapped out like so:
ONEHITWONDER_ABILITY_REND_TEXTURE = "Interface\\Icons\\Ability_Gouge";
I take it this is inside an mpq? Where would I go about finding the proper path for demoralizing shout?
Also how should I make judgement calls for auto-casting? I was pretty amazed after looking over this how automated everything can be. I don't want to make a "bot", but at what point should I draw the line between popping up a message saying "It's time to execute" and auto-casting execute?
I worry if this mod goes into too much detail blizzard may start nerfing functionality of macros that is currently being used in other not so abrasive ways. How do you think I should go about this?

JesterX - I think you'll find a couple of problems with your plans:
1) There's no way to /pause the use of a spell or ability using macros.
2) You can only use one ability/spell per button press.
That aside, its just like Sarf says. But you may need to hit the macro button a couple of times (with a short pause) if you want to use two abilities/spells sequentially.

OK. Brief history lesson about OHW:
Once upon a time, I coded something called ShapeshiftShadowform (allowed priests to have Shadowform just like Druids have their forms).
In the course of coding, I could never get the buff names directly, thus I used the textures of the buffs (long story short : somehow my tooltip handling was less than perfect).
Nowadays, however, you can use the buff names if you want to.
I am recoding OHW so that if you specify texture AND name, it will first check for the correct texture then the correct name. This should be faster.
Use : OneHitWonder_HasUnitEffect(unitName, texture, name) and only specify unitName and name. Thus:
/script local spellId = OneHitWonder_GetSpellId("Heroic Strike"); if ( not OneHitWonder_HasUnitEffect("target", nil, "Rend") ) then spellId = OneHitWonder_GetSpellId("Rend"); end OneHitWonder_CastSpell(spellId);
This will rend the target if it does not have rend "active" on itself, in which case it will cast Heroic Strike.

Inside Interface.mpq and patch.mpq... OR you could grab it from the enemy directly by using :
/script OneHitWonder_Print(UnitDebuff("target", 0));
That dumps the first debuff of your target to the chat window.
Remember that lua strings wants backslash to be preceded by another backslash, so if you used Rend, it would say:
Interface\Icons\Ability_Gouge
but in the lua file you would need to specify it like this:
WHATEVER = "Interface\\Icons\\Ability_Gouge";

Autocasting is not exactly possible... but casting the next time you move/turn/press a binding is certainly possible.

My concerns exactly... and why I was so hesitant to release OHW to the general public.
I don't have any good answers. OHW in combination with a third-party tool (to generate the keypresses) could easily become quite a powerful bot... however there are strict limitations... it's currently very hard to make a good aggro manager for warriors, and... well... so on. :)

How difficult would it be to detect if you are under water and cast "Unending Breath" as buff if you are?
What about adding Shadow Ward (to go along with Fire Ward and Frost Ward)?
Are you treating OHW as open source (as in would you accept patches if people submitted them?) Thez has has some Warlock specific updates at http://cosmosui.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=8553#8553 that you may want to include.

Shadow Bolt
Shadowburn
Mind Blast
Touch of Weakness
Devouring Plague
Shadow Word: Pain
Mind Flay
So, "shadow" is definitely a keyword to watch for... Mind is a bit trickier because there are quite a few other non-shadow Mind spells.

let me get this straight... being a warlock, the goal for this thing is to, like, with each subsequent press, cast corruption, immolate, a curse, life drain, etc etc?
on one hand, I'm skeptical...
on the other hand, I hate having my normal bar, my 2 sidebars, and 2 rows of popbar pretty much completely full with spells and having to actively think of what to click when =P automation is nice...
cliffjeff, OneHitWonder is meant to automate normal combats. Normal combats are, unfortunately, distressingly similar to each other.
OHW is not that stupid, though, it does different stuff depending on the situation.
The latest test version of OHW has Shadow Ward handling (and improved Fire/Frost Ward handling).

OHW doesn't seem to handle multiple Tracking/Find abilities very well. I really like that it will try to make sure that you always have one active, but it doesn't seem to gracefully handle a situation when you have multiple abilities.
If for example you have both Mining and Herbalism it becomes very difficult to use Find Minerals because it constantly tries to activate your Find Herb ability instead. Also don't forget about the other abilites/spells like Sense Demons, Track Beasts, Sense Undead, etc.
I know that I can set ShouldKeepFindOn to false and use them manually, but is there some other way to intelligently handle these abilities like maybe have it rotate through the available ones every so often?

I am getting lot error every time i pressed /script OneHitWonder_GiveMeWonder(); in the macro setup.
I looked everywhere in the keybind setup nothing find OneHitWonder on the list.
Any suggest? I am using OneHitWonder 0.12 version as latest version today.

You might want to verify whether or not the 'PetIsAttacking' flag is being set. It seems as if my pet is constantly being issued a new attack command even if it is already attacking something.

Never mind, I got 0.12 OHW working. You must use Interface 4114 in the toc to order working properly. You will able set a keybind in the WoW's keybind setup under the OneHitWonder section.
I have a question. When I run into the action combat and do I have press one time button or must press button mor often to order combo skills execute action? Is that reactive button means to order execute all skills combo such heroic strike, shield bash, overpower, etc and etc?

You must click the button once for every spell that should go off. Spells will not go off it is not their time.

Yep, all the script directories appear to have had their permissions set oddly.
Currently, the file server is down (but the webserver is up) which is why you receive the odd error message. Unfortunately, Free Geek Support is kinda non-existant in these days just after Xmas, but I'll be working on getting it.

I tested on 15lvl warlock with OHW last night. I can't figure why the OHW did not perform CoA or CoR, Corruption while start initate into combat with Immolate + sent petattack same time. I mean it should start any Curse (CoA, CoW, CoR, and etc), then Corruption, and Immolate. It only Immolate repeat till the enemy health reach half then Corruption when it reach 1/4 hp and it went wand shoot enemy. It was not right procedure. isn't it?
When the enemy's health went below 20% and i got error pop up on my screen said 145 line nil and it did not tell me full name of file due it showed "OneHitWonder_...". I knew it musta be relate Drain Soul error?

It was all working fine when I first installed it, then after going about 1/4 of the way into Wailing Caves, it started to lag, so i left, and was still lagging, so I decided to restart my computer. Then I opened up WoW again, and lag was gone, I went back in Wailing Caves, and went to where it started lagging, and boom, everything started lagging again. It seems right when I get to that point, lag hits me and doesnt go away til I restart WoW, but right when I go back to that spot the lag comes again. Anyone else getting this?
Please specify what version of OHW you are using when you get the bugs in question.

sorry if this has been asked. I extracted the zip to the addons folder. I created a macro for sinister strike. /script OneHitWonder_GiveMeWonder();. I was reading through this thread and was curious how to enable the script to choose what styles are best. Is there something I'm not doing?

nm I figured it out. I also apologize for the multiple posts. It doesn't seem to show me on the forum when I posted. As I'm using OHW more I'm starting to see what it does. Question though, I've noticed for Ranged attack it looks for "shoot gun" and I've always used a bow. Is there a way to edit that?

I've been using OHW blind for a couple days due to the forums acting strange. But since then some questions have been answered and some seem to pop up.
In instances with lots of humanoids OHW seems to work fine. Pickpockets, Ambushing in stealth etc. When i get to just questing it doesn't seem to do that check anymore. All it does is open with SS. Is there something I'm doing wrong to cause this?
Lastly, I've been using bows since the creation of this character, Yet i noticed OHW looks for "shoot gun". Is there a way to change that to bows?

Try 0.015-test2. However, it should not do what you describe.

i have tried 0.015-test2 and 0.015 and when it checks to see if i should cast soul drain i get error that i cant compare number to nil... works correctly if i have 0 soulstones then it will cast soul drain as it should but after i get 1 shard then i get error.... otherwise it seems to work ok

I'd like to see the ability to configure health/mana thresholds and then if you fall below one or the other it will consume a potion, use a healthstone, etc.
I'm thinking something along the lines of AutoPotion (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?FN=wow-interface-customization&T=12661).

I tested OHW test2, Sometime it work and not working right in warlock (DoT procedure) however perfectly function such skin armor or breath underwater.
I found a bug in rogue, When I have a group fight few mobs same time and it tend alert me kick reactive which is the mob is not a caster. It was happen to other my friend fight with caster. OHW got confuse between me and others.

Try 0.015-test2. However, it should not do what you describe.
I'll see if I can get it tested.

thought i would post this here. Sarf mentioned there was a limit to the ambushes done with OHW. he aslo mentioned that there should be an option in cosmos config screen for ohw. Am i missing something cause I don't have those options? Anyone else experience this and wouldn't mind sharing what you did to rectify it. OHW works fine but there are times that in stealth it will open with SS.
Sarf if you see this It wasn't to put you on the spot I just wanted to make sure I didn't flood you with questions you might've answered already :)
1st of id like to say thank you for the greatest tool ever :)
Now on to my question OHW has come a long long way from the 1st version .. curently it has selectable options to wether you want to use certain abilitys on a rogue.. Im a riposte specced rogue which is the disarm talent .. It seems you have included the code for it in OHW aswell with one small problem after i actually disarm the mob and his already disarmed, when i press OHW key again and i have the ability to disamr again i get the msg the target is not holding a weapon. When that happens the mod stops from hitting unless i press another style. Coul you possible put in a weapon check for that.
Some times im fighting mobs with no weapons and my riposte comes up i get the same problem.. If a weapon check can not be made could you pls add an option in settings to use it or not ?

Just wanted to let you know about my progress with the warrior section of OHW. I had more or less finished Battle and Defensive stance, and held off on Berserker as at the time the (upcoming) 1.2.1 patch seemed to be changing it around and re-adding pummel. I ended up becoming fairly familiar with the OHW code (and the blizzard LUA functions for that matter). Sadly due to a hard drive crash during the holidays I lost all the work. I was working off 0.006 at the time, and it seems a lot of development has been done since then.
I would like to help out with this more, but at this point I'm not too sure who is working on what, or what I should be focusing on. Do you use CVS or some other versioning system? Are you the only one working on OHW, or are people sending you patches randomly?
I would be gladly willing to host a CVS for OHW (and any other projects you would like to use it for) if it would be useful. I know how tough it can be to have multiple people working on code without a versioning system, especially when you dont know who is working on what.
Do you have any thoughts or suggestions on this?

I second the part about adding troll berserking when they hit the % needed for it. I have never coded anything like this before, but I am going to give it an attempt when I get home I think. If anyone that has a clue what they are doing wants to do it, I am sure you will get it before me.

I think OHW is great, but my hunter has a couple of problems with last version (v0.020) it casts aspect of the hawk then bout 10 secs later it will remove aspect of hawk then a few secs later it starts process all over. other than that your OHW works great...

I am seeing similar issues with my Warlock... basically it tries to cast Demon Armor over and over and over again even though it was successful each time.

Can someone please explaing how this work with a hunter , I binded my key for OHW and my pet goes ther just fine to the MOB , my aspeact of HAwak also is fine it cast by itself , but I cant shoot my gun at all , and when the MOB is close to me is the only time i can actually hit OHW button again. In short words if someone please can post a OHW hunter .lua file it will amazing. Thanks

Hi there,
I want to use OneHitWonder only to refresh my buffs.
Is it possible to cut it down to that and lose all the balast of the program trying to decide what move some rogue would try to do, while I am a druid(or priest).
I already managed to put some '--' in front of the 'track humanoids' command, so I dont get the 'requires cat form' message all the time.
Also my gameplay seems to be somewhat sluggish since I run OneHitWonder. Can the load of things it tries to figure out while I play be a reason for this?
Or asked differently, what files/parts of files could I simply delete to achieve my goal of a slim mod to just refresh my buffs?

I am considering splitting OneHitWonder into two AddOns (or more) : BuffKeeper and CombatAide (or whatever names I use).
The current status, however, is this:
By itself, OHW will only initiate buffing on certain keypresses.
Now, I didn't know that Track Humanoids required cat form, however, you can override this by using:
/script OneHitWonder_PreferredTrackingSpell = ONEHITWONDER_ABILITY_FIND_NO_STUFF_NAME;
This will DISABLE the automatic tracking buffing.
Note that this will have to be done on each restart of the client.
While I do respect that people may want to pick and choose from my AddOns, I do expect you to respect that my time is limited, and that I do actually want to play a bit myself.
Refactoring 300 kb of code into something that works just a bit better (for me that is) is not very high on my list of "ways I want to spend the next week" right now, but I will do it, sooner or later.

I'm sure that instead of getting all these "Hey can you make XX work like YY?" questions, Sarf would rather get patches that do these things. If you want something changed so bad, learn to do it yourself. It's a fairly easy to understand API.

Heyas all,
first of all, sarf i would like to let you know, that i really appreciate your work on OWH. I like the idea of the BuffKeep mod, it would make life so much easier, but right now i'm having Problems to get it to work right.
I tested the version 0.022 and 0.021. I'm playing a Paladin, and it's a pain in the ass to rebuff the whole group every five minutes, or to keep casting my seal of the crusader over and over again. But the only thing that i get working with OHW right now is, the auto purify and reactional Hammer of Justice.
If i activate "keep up self buffs" i get the Aura Switching Phenomen that the Hunter described above. And it just wont recast the buffs when they wear off. Neither self-buffs nor group-buffs.
Maybe i just did something wrong with the configuration, or maybe i did not get the Point how the Mod is supposed to be working. Also i cant find any documentation that explains what exactly the Keybindings are for.

I updated my Cosmos from sarf 4_1_2_1 to sarf 6_1_2_1. Removed the saved variables file, so nothing of the old cosmos stuff and config would be left, but still the Aura Recast Problem would occure together with a Error Report Window if i move my character without a buff cast on.
Also rebuffing does not happen, neither automatically, nor when i hit the Key for OneHitWOnder! or It'sBuffTime!.
Another question that is offtopic right here, but is there a possibility to write a script or something to map shift+rightclick on the right mouse button, so you would always loot all. Even if Blizz dont likes it, but would this function be possible through the UI customization?

Get and use the latest cosmos files available from one of many mirrors (not mine, my cron job is not working :( ).
Note that I have to check with the latest version to see if something happens.
However, make SURE that you allow self buffing. Without that, no self-buffs should be performed.

hm, tryed to translate a little bit, now i'am getting this error:

Unfortuanly it doesnt show me, which file exactly it happens.
I already checked every file if I messed up some syntax, but all I did was change the string values.
Basically, copy all the things specified in each localization file to here:

This will insure two things - one, that the code still works on the English client, and two, that I can include your translations in the "official" OHW client.
I will generally not assist with errors in my AddOns which have been modified by others (because I do not have the code nor the TIME to see what changes they have made). If, however, you would send me localization files with the German section filled in, I'd appreciate it and debug it.

One thing that I think needs to be added to OHW is a check to see if a spell should not be cast again on a particular target.
For example if your target is immune to a particular spell, you should probably stop attempting to cast it. I don't know if there is some immunity check function, but I think this could be detected via combat messages.
Also, if you (or a party member) already has a stronger version of the same buff (for example Detect Invisibility is up when all you can cast is Detect Lesser Invisibility) then you should stop attempting to cast it over and over again. This could be detected via the message that states something like "That target already has a stonger version of that spell".

I was playing on my shaman and noticed that OHW worked fine right after loading (Had autobuffing turned on), but after a minute or so, every button I hit came up with the "You can't do that yet" error on the screen. I can't figure out what it's trying to do that it can't. Once I disabled OHW, the message stopped. This was also before and after updating to one of the recent versions of cosmos.
Got an issue with my Shaman.
When it tries to keep up the Weapon Buff and i perform many actions at the time. like clicking or using keyboard keys it buffs the weapon everytime i release a button.
As a result of that, my manapool gets empty when the rebuffing triggers and i'm in combat at that moment or just am very active at that time.
It empties my mana pool by chain buffing my weapon.
My suggestion for this is a rebuff cooldown. like a manual cooldown for weapon buffs or such. if the function run through and buffed, it wont do it again for 5 seconds or such.
Can i Simply add a var and check whether
GetTime()>lasbufftime+4
??
would like some answer before the servers in europe are down ;)

I have had the same problem with the chain weapon buff, just got the new version so ill see if it still does this(havent updated the version is a while dont know which one i was using)
I just started playing a hunter, and im wondering if it is possible to make aspects react the way earth shock and earthbound totem do for hunter.
if im firing my gun cast aspect of the hawk and if i switch to my melee weapon then cast aspect of the monkey.
Im like an infant taking a geomtry test when it comes to coding. but it seems to me that if when i use one of my specials for the gun it could check to see if i have aspect of hawk cast and if not then cast it upon any key press, and do the same for when i use a melee special or my current targets moves to close for gun range.
not sure if any of this is possible or not but if any of you smart guys out there would like to try and accomplish this im sure a ton of hunters would greatly appreciate it.
BTW sarf this is a must have add on to me so thanks for the hard work you have put into it.
edit: I installed the newest version of one hit wonder tonight that has the dynamic data separated into 4-5 different add ons and now i cant move anything in AIOI.

Well, updated to the newest version again. Now nothing seems to be happening when I am on the shaman. No automatic weapon buffs, no normal buffs (lightening shield), etc. Everything is enabled, so it should work, but I still get that "You can't do that yet" message whenever I hit a key. I can make it stop by manually casting lightening shield, though. No idea what the problem is.

Yep, mine is a troll shaman. I was also the guest who posted above about lightning shield stopping the message from happening. If I knew anything about lua's scripting language, I'd give it a go myself, but for the moment, I just have it disabled. But I miss it so...
Edit: Wow, were you ever correct. I took a gander at the lua and added an additional check to the code. It fixed it! After enabling it again, it cast the weapon buff and lit-shield perfectly. If others are having this problem, then open up OneHitWonder.lua and find the bit of code that says:

Edit2: Also, I just noticed its not keeping up the weapon buff unless lightning shield has worn off. Maybe it's because it casts too quickly, but I also noticed it's trying to cast the weapon buff twice....

Just got OHW 0.030 this morning and I noticed that Pick Pocket isn't working. Also, for quite some past versions I've noticed when I hit my bound key for OHW, after it performs the action it stops my character from attacking. If I hit my key again once I have enough energy it will perform the action again, but liek I said out of nowhere sometimes it just stop attacking my target.

First off let me say that i LOVE this add-on it really helps me kill alot better. I was wondering if there is a way to disable riposte skill on onehitwonder, the reason is it works great against guys with weapons, but i mostly hunt beast and when i'm fighting with onehitwonder and riposte kick on it wont let you do anything else until riposte goes off and for me that sucks. So i hope you guys can help me :)

upgraded to .35 the hunter aspect problem seems to be happening again keeps switching between them when i first log in. after about 30 seconds it stops switching, don't know if it does it after I die will let you know if it does when i die at some point

.36 gave me errors at login, with OHW not showing up in the cosmos menu. Dropping back to .35 all is smooth. 'course, I realize posting said errors would be helpful, but I don't have them to post.

OHW version .039 hates pallys again. i cant close out of cosmos by hitting close buttons. seems to work fine on all other characters. version 037 works fine for paladins.i made a new paladin character to see if it was my settings, and error followed. I love OHW and hope it soon gets to working again.

One hit wonder has been broken for a long time for the paladin.
I am afraid to revert to an older version because i dont want to lose anything for the rogue and such.
Just wondering if there was any news on the paladin being fixed. i have to comepletly turn off all of one hit wonder to be able to play my paladin

So, I've dumped Cosmos (for now, when Blizz gets the frame bugs fixed who knows?) and I'm curious about sarf's addons, especially OHW. Optional dependencies include Cosmos, but how much of the features are limited to Cosmos users? How do I get the most out of OHW without Cosmos?

Edit: went in and did what it said to do on page 8 again, and low and behold it worked this time. I must have screwed something up the other times but now it works. Sarf, whenever you get a chance if you could add that in it would be awesome, otherwise I will just modify it whenever you come up with a new version and keep enjoying your awesome addon.

theres a mod to make ohw work without cosmos its on curse-gaming.com thing its called wonderslash. Tho I'd much rather stick with cosmos instead of having to use a ton of slashcommands

You should never ever change values in a .toc file. You just need to uncheck the "Disable out-of-date AddOns" box on the AddOns window of the client.

They removed the UnitFacing function with the latest patch. If you're using OHW to keep up buffs on yourself for a priest, then you really shouldn't get errors from this. However, if you play a class like a rogue, then you will that facing error coming up all the time. At least that has been my experience and what seems to have happened. I have been looking for a way to either disable the error notification so that I can use OHW with my rogue, even with limited functionality, or to get an updated version which doesn't use the Unit Facing function.

Yeah, I have been trying to come up with a way to get this to work also, but no matter what, I get that annoying error. If I come up with a way to fix it before Sarf does I will post it, but haven't had any luck yet.

You hit the nail on the head. I was playing my rogue. I'm 3 blocks from 59, but the error is so annoying I started playing a new char until someone (smarter than me obviously) comes up with a fix.
Not bitchin'. Just addicted to OHW. Gameplay without it is so ridiculous with the number of necessary hotkeys that I feel like I'm typing instead of playing.

While yes, it is annoying, and yes, I'd love for it to get fixed ...
it is not coming up "all the time". In fact it comes up about 20 times, at the beginning of a session, then never again.
I just make sure I target someone, and turn 20 or 30 times, to get past the error. Then you can play as before.
Annoying, yes.
Still usable ... yes.

I figured out how to fix it, but I don't have any reliable way to host it. If someone wants me to email the file to them and they can host it I have OHW working as intended.

the new version fixes that problem, but I've run into another one unfortunately. It doesn't pop up often, I think it's only happened twice to me so far, but sometimes and error will pop up that has something to do with dynamic data and says something to the effect of "getspellname" is causing an error. Any ideas?

ok, sorry to sound dumb, but i dont get it.. i have installed OHW for the first time.. along with cosmos for the first time.
is OHW supposed to know what a rogue uses for combinantion and do the combo for me or am i totally wrong in my assumption? if it does the combo for me (or should do the combo for me), then why is this combo not coming out?

you can go into the settings of OHW by hitting the blue swirly thing under your mini map, then scroll down to the rogue section and figure out what you want to happen in certain circumstances. Then bind a key to OHW (I use F). When you hit your OHW key, it will run a check against your settings and decide what it needs to do.

Does anyone know if it's possible to set it up so I can toggle cold blood on and off with a button? I use cold blood, but I don't want to waste it on just any fight. Turning on the PVP only option doesn't help me much since I play on a PVP server. I would appreciate any help I can get, thanks.

the unit facing error is bakc in the latest version of one hit wonder 043 I used all the test versions of it and it only popped up in the final it only seems to happen on my paladin and not my mage also automatic debuffs no longer seem to work.
also to sarf is it possible to add a slider for paladins auto buff to be a blessing other than kings or might? I normally use wisdon as my main self buff. Als oit seems to know classes for buffs so a slider for eahc class to auto buff group would be cool so i could put salvation instead of wisdom on soft targets.

I have no way to stop it but turning off improved error frame stopes it from popping up and it should only happen when u first log in. just click on osmething like 20 tiems and it's gone.

hi guys
i have binded a key to OHW via key bindings in WoW and when in battle, clicked on said key.
all it does is act like i just pressed the regular attack button. i thought this was supposed to do combinations and ects of that sort. have i misinterpreted what OWH does or have i missed configured it?

OHW is not a autoattack. you have to hit the button each time you want something to happen. You set the preferences and when the conditions you've dictated are correct, the desired result will happen.
For example, I have a rogue and want it to do rupture when I accrue 5 combo points. I set the preferences for "use rupture" and set it to 5 points minimum. Now, in combat, when I hit the OHW key, it does sinister strike automatically every time I press it as long as I have the energy. When I get to 5 points and have enough energy, this time when I hit my button, it does a rupture. if I have kick set for reactive, when a magic user starts to cast, I hit my OHW key and it kicks instead of sinister strike.
If you really want to see how good this mod is, try it with a hunter. Even without parameters set, it does the right shots in the right order every time I hit the button.

maybee this was posted and i missed it but my shaman no loger bufs his weapon, everything else seems to work. i double checked the options andeven reinstalled the latest version but nothing.
not sure when this started cause i havent played my shaman in several weeks.
any ideas are appreciated
EDIT: i got it fixed by updating chronos with the newest one from curse gaming. the one in newest cosmos alpha didnt seem to do it.
Hey Sarf (or anyone) I got a question on OHW...
When I use OHW with Cosmos it doesnt matter what key I hit, if someone starts casting a spell OHW makes me kick them. I love this (I guess its called a reactive action?). I dont really use a "One hit wonder button" I just play the game normal, but enjoy having OHW take over on reactive stuff (like kicking)
When I installed another mod (simply because I liked the way it looked, really) I got OHW to work. But I have to bind a key to the "Do any pending reactive action" thingy. Is there any way to have OHW intercept bindings again and "kick" casters for me even when I hit my "Sinister Strike" key from a non-cosmos UI?
I downloaded "Wonderslash" as well, and enabled the "Intercept Bindings" thing on OHW. But it doesnt seem to work. I fight a caster, and I either have to hit a specific key for "Do pending reactive action" or I have to hit my kick key directly. It used to stop whatever I was doing and just kick for me, regardless of what button I hit.
...help?

Still having problems when playing with the newest OHW version and my pally.
I get the error message:

think it must be something in the function:
function OneHitWonder_GetBuffName(unitLevel, buffName)
line 3605 is:
local index = strfind(buffName, "%(");
this error makes OHW quite unusable since the error msg pops up every couple of seconds
am i the only one to have this problem ?

That's a bit steep for me. For example, I want to change the options in my warrior lua b/c it used to open with charge. Now it doesn't. I have no idea what changes to make in the lua file. I've looked at it but I have no idea how to turn an option on or off. Also, what's the difference between a warrior.lua and a warrior.localization.lua?

Any news on an update under Khaos? I've edited my .lua files, but OHW seems to still be set to the modes I had it on before I installed Khaos. Ex. I set my warrior's rend to 0, which should turn it off, but he still uses it right after charge.

I know there is a current issue with OHW that makes it not read it's settings from the OneHitWonder.lua (The new file that stores the varibles as of 1.7) when you logout and login again. I believe that reloading the UI will also cause this issue.
3 ways to fix this are to:
1. Completely exit the game and log back in.
2. If you still have the base "Cosmos" folder you can still use it to configure Cosmos addons that don't have Khaos support.
3. Edit your OneHitWonder "defaults" code as shown previously in this forum.

I have downloaded that and it looks like it is based off an older release of OHW. Either "OneHitWonder_1500_v0.044.zip" dated 11-Jun-2005 or "OneHitWonder_1500_v0.045.zip" dated 16-Jun-2005. (TOC file says "Interface: 1500")
The curent version of OHW from Sarf's repository http://www.fukt.bth.se/~k/wow/scripts/OneHitWonder/?C=M;O=A is "OneHitWonder_1600_v0.046.zip" dated 02-Aug-2005. I would prefer to use the 1600 version of OHW if at all possible. Have you looked at the code in 1600? If so, have the changes you made to the 1500 version been applied to the 1600 version?
On the CosmosLegacy - I've been unable to get that to work with the current version of Khaos. I think it's having issues with CooldownCount. I'll do a quick test again to see if that's the cause.
I use OHW quite a lot with my rogue, warrior, priest and hunter with no problems. The only class I've had errors with is the paladin. On that note, however, I'm not sure if the error I'm getting with the paladin is actually interfering with functionality. Of course my paladin is only level 9 and extremly dusty from not being used. The error could be more apparent with higher level paladins.

Ok - I downloaded CosmosLegacy 1.02 from Curse Gaming.
When I load Khaos in game I can configure all of my legacy mods with the exception of One Hit Wonder. (1600_v0.046) Upon clicking on the One Hit Wonder checkbox I get the following error:
Count: 11
Error: Interface\AddOns\Khaos\Khaos.lua:2512: attempt to compare nil with number
At this point Khaos configuration becomes disabled until reloading the UI.

The version I use is directly from sarfs SVN. fukt is a delayed web copy and is not directly related to SVN at all, the one there is older, that isn't the repository.

how about this. I loved the way OHW worked before we switched to khaos. editing .luas ends up with me spending all my game time trying to recode stuff that I used to change with a simple click.
Is there 1) a way to go back to a stable older build where OHW was configurable via the cosmos menu, or 2) a way to load nothing but OHW without it being dependent on khaos (currently the dynamic data files on which OHW relies are dependent on chaos)?

onehitwonder doesnt seem to fuction correctly anymore.
I dont get any errors or anything of the sorts, it just doesnt do as much as it used to on my rogue.
I used to fly through combo points and such and it was great but now it's almost like im just auto attacking and the reactive measures dont work
Cheap shot and such work but during combat the only thing that happens is sinsiter strike and eviscerate
any eta on a new version past the august 2nd one?

well here some more info on it
Almost everything works except for sinister strike... It doesnt seem to use it anymore.
It will cast cheapshot and reactively use kidney shot and kick and also use eviscerate but doesnt use sinister strike to build up combo points :(
Anyone good with LUA and knows the changes they made to the API please post here any ideas you have on it, im gonna try to fix it myself

I am back, but I had too much on my plate to keep OHW updated too - therefore dreamss have now taken over maintenence of OHW. I'll edit the first post to reflect this.
Anyhow, I'll add in the fix for Riposte. Because Riposte didn't work the same way it did before, it probably causes a logical "lockup" in the code prior to using SS.

Thanks for checking back in Sarf. I hope Dreamss can fill your shoes. Honestly, I'd give up all other mods if I could just have OHW up and working and configurable again.
My fervent hope is to get enough time free so that I can FINALLY get CombatSequencer up and running. If I do, OHW becomes (mostly) obsolete.
CombatSequencer + ActionQueue (AQ_BuffBot and AQ_AutoFind for instance) will make OHW become totally obsolete. However, CombatSequencer is a rather large project, and will require some solid thinking and coding. Unfortunately, I am quite wanted in-game, with friends and guildies wanting me to raid (so that I can finally get some better stuff than the lousy level 50 Thrash Blade I currently use :( ), and that plus real life issues (my father has an unhealthy connection with trees and chainsaws, which results in me helping him with carrying large chunks of wooden material) results in me having approximately 1-1.5 hour per day available to code addons... which I mostly spend trying to fix bugs in old addons. :(
Oh well, I hope I get some free time going in the next week. No promises, though.

Can't wait for combatsequencer. In the meantime can you help resolve an issue?
Previously my hunter would change aspects depending on what she was doing, if no target was chosen, it would do aspect of the cheetah. If I targeted a mob, it would cast aspect of the hawk and, when the mob got close enough to do melee, it case aspect of the monkey with the next OHW button push. Now it still switches between ranged and melee combat with a button push, but it doesn't change the aspects like it did. All it does is cast hawk if I have something else on, but it won't switch out of hawk to travel or melee. I checked the hunter.lua file and all three aspects are flipped on like so:
OneHitWonder_Hunter_MeleeAspect = 1;
OneHitWonder_Hunter_RangedAspect = 1;
OneHitWonder_Hunter_TravelAspect = 1;
But I have no idea where in the rest of the file something got turned off. Can you point me to the line of code and the fix?

So, by setting all 3 aspect variables to 1 you told OHW to go ahead and cast Aspect of the Hawk in all conditions. I guess you should use 1 for ranged, 2 for melee and 3 (or 5!) for travel.
I'm sorry, these aspect variables were a mite easier to config with the old Cosmos options pane.

Ok, who is deamss and how do I get to his area? looks like fkt.bth... has not been updated in a while and whe priest code is almost unusable (at least at lvl16)
sarf, how would I add mortal strike to have the highest priority once battle shout, and a couple sunders are applied for warriors? It doesnt look like adding it to the array at the top and giving it the button location/name is good enough.
Uhm... you need to change the way OneHitWonder_Warrior is done, basically..

No, it's not really that simple. :/
And the code is a mess, it's one reason I had to give it over to someone else for maintenence. I need free time so I can make addons to replace OHW.

Hi there. Got some problem with my priest lately. Offen when im in combat i got this error:
Error: Interface\AddOns\OneHitWonder\OneHitWonder.lua:157 0: attempt to compare string with number
Can someone tell me what is wrong plz! Hope you can help me out cuz im going nutz :cry:

I've been using Cosmos for ages and have been editing it a little recently.
Things I've added (that may or may not be useful for other people).
Hunters:
If there is a sting on the mob already don't override it. This allows you to manadrain mobs when you want to and still use your normal one button attack.
An option to use Multi-attack automatically when not in a group. Maximises dps and I usually use frost and entangle rather than freeze traps. I can see many people _not_ wanting this option though.
Rogues:
An option to automatically use Feint as much as possible in a raid.
If Expose Armour is selected it still won't use it if there is a warrior in your party or raid. (To stop me having to turn the settings on and off!)
Things I haven't done but would like to see...
Travel aspect for hunters should not be selected automatically unless both you and your pet are out of combat. I had to stop using Travel Aspect because I'd kill one target and accidentally press the button and it would come on because I had no live target left even though I was still fighting.
Ranged attack for rogues if current target is at the proper distance, rather than simply doing nothing. (When fighting Onyxia and in Molten Core I am often at range for parts of the fight.)
I'm sure there are others but this is what I remember currently.
I added a fix for the Hunter Travel aspect thingy - good call.

Another was the criteria for "Ghostly Strike". It doesn't need to be health based any more, just whenever your "target's target" is you.

Recently the 1800 build of OHW has ceased using Battleshout automatically on my warrior.
No amount of reinstalling or reconfiguring the addon has had any effect.
I'm currently using the Cosmos Alpha and CosmosLegacy 1.4 as well.

-Daishoweird I have that same build and it casts battle shout for me....my warrior is currently only level 20 so maybe a skill you learn later on might cause conflicts?

I am having problems with the support files for this being out of date, i had to disable them, they seemed to be the reason for horrible lag. I tried re-numbering the files to 1800 which sometimes works but not this time.
So as previously asked any update? or is the new add-on mentioned prevoius by Sarf getting close to release?
