okay, it seems the general rule is you can't do anything at all automatically with macros/addons, can't cast two spells, cant use something repeatedly, cant cant cant

and yet there's /gotoc and /goto x,y? how do these work? they're not only able to automatically turn and walk to where you want to go, but automatically detect if you've hit a snag and try to get around it. what's the deal? what makes these commands 'special' and allows them to be strung together?

and how does the alarm work? if it can watch the clock and send a message when it reaches a certain time, why can't it watch the clock (or better yet my buff timer) and recast at a certain time?

i don't want anything to do with play-for-you bots, but i do desperately want an auto-shoot with my wands and blizzard's made it painfully clear they don't want to give us one... why no automation whyyyyy

I'd guess because moving from point A to point B while you're taking a leak doesn't give you a real advantage over other players.

Handing us features on a silver platter that enables someone to AFK-macro if they want to has the potential to screw the game economy royally in the ass (pardon my french).

You don't have to look further than to the nearest competing MMORPG to see why this is a Bad Thing [tm]

um, this isn't about whether or not automation is good or bad.

i'm asking how it can be done with walkbot but nothing else

Because walking does not require a button to be pressed to initatiate / stop walking.
