It's a cosmos enabled add in that adds audio notification on party chat, or when your name is mentioned in any chat.
Also it will display tells overhead if chosen.
It requires cosmos, as it uses the Cosmos Options screen to display
to install just extract to wow folder (assuming you already have cosmos)
Version 1.0 has the ability to set sounds for custom events, including a treeview browser ingame of all sounds that you can use to browse and pick.
It works now, but there may be bugs.
Neat!

I have the add-on installed that comes with the default install of cosmos. I was wondering if this new version actually let you specify when the audio calls started? Basicly I am crap at keeping track of my hp, so when it calls for help...I'm usually already dead, as heals aren't instant :) Would like to set a call for around 45-50% hp instead of the default 10-25% that it is. Is this feature in, or is there a way to manually modify it? Thx in advance.

Yeah, this addon was designed just to handle chat, but it could be modified to do that as well.
I'm probably going to split out the sound picker tree and make it more generic to work with other things that have a sound file, and then add a few more alerts.

There was a Mod for Decal with Asheron's Call that gave you an audible alert sound and chat message when a particular mob, item, person, etc was in the area you were in. Something similar to that would be great.
I'm running along thru the woods and a little alert sound plus the phrase "Liferoot in area" or something. I'm always missing my herbs because I'm looking where I'm running instead of watching the mini map.
Anyway, just a thought!

Is there anyway to modify this to give us an audible alert when certain words are used in chat? My problem is that my name is SpunkMuffin but by and large most people just call me Spunk, or Muffin ... or even a couple others. If I could modify the audible to happen on words of my chosing I could ensure that I never miss a tell. This would help a lot!!! Thanks for all of your hard work.
-SpunkMuffin ... Spunk.... Muffin..... Spunky.... etc.

sound alerts to let ppl know when skills are rdy to be used would be very hanndy for a warrior. Skills like overpower (only usable when opponent dodges) and shield bash (to spam) need a feature like this. and im sure all other races can benifit from this.

I have something you can think about adding in. For Rogues, give them the ability to hear a sound every time they get a combo point. Like for me personally:
1 CP: no sound
2 CP "Double Kill!"
3 CP "Multi Kill!"
4 CP "Mega Kill!"
5 CP "Monster Kill!"
Finishing move (reasonable health left on PC) "Perfect!"
Finishing move with low HP (give us a slider if you can so each person can be unique :)) "Last second save!"
If you could put something in like that it would make my day...or just e-mail me and tell me how to modify your script to do it. I don't really care if anyone else hears the sounds becaue I don't group much. anyway, nice mod, keep up the good work.
Peace out,

Sorry about the post above, i thought I had a registered account. Anyway, I know how to insert things into .lua files, I just don't know what to insert (or where to insert it inside the file). The calls for rogue combo points are GetComboPointsMax() and GetComboPoints().

anyway to add additional sounds
honesly the sounds that are in here dont stand out enough
my primary reason woulb be to listen for whispers...
Ie guild mates acutions that sort of things but the sounds dont stand out that much
i remember and older version or maybe it was another mod
that had custom sounds

I reallt like this mod. Could we get it updated to run witht he patch? I know how to to it but it would be nice in the official version.
Is there any way to add custom words to look for in the chat?
And why is Cosmos included with the mod? I know it requires Cosmos, but most mods here though, Still they don't include every other mod in Cosmos.

I updated it today with the new toc file numbers. The zip file doesn't include anything else other than the audible alerts files. I've got an install wizard for cosmos on that site too, but it is seperate from this.
For answers to other questions like can it use external sounds, yes it can, but there is no interface for that yet. And it can be used to monitor other keywords, and event types as well. But that would have to be coded into it. If anyone gets into that code and adds anything like that, let me know. I won't have much time to work on it this month (or even play wow) so don't expect much more here.

Sorry, wasn't logged in before. I tried redownloading the mod, and it appears that all the folders (other addons in the zip) are empty.

any chance to get this working with the guild officer channel, have it use the same sound as the guild channel. Currently it doesn't play any sound at all even with the other chat channels options ticked.
I tried changeing things and added it to init the CHAT_MSG_OFFICER chat line which worked but it kept calling a nil sound and bringing up an error and it wasn't in the sound chooser drop down to set one to it.

ive been trying to edit it to scan the combat as well...
AudibleAlerts_InitChannel("CHAT_MSG_COMBAT","Combat",1,AudibleAlerts_DefaultSound,0,AudibleAlerts_Enab leAlert_CHAT_MSG_COMBAT);
im not sure if im using the right ID... but what im trying to have it scan for is this...
if (AudibleAlerts_PlayerNotifyEnabled == 1) then
if (string.find(string.lower(arg1), string.lower("battle shout fades from you."))) then
PlaySoundFile(AudibleAlerts_DefaultNameSound);
end
end
it would serve as a reminder when my battle shout fades... because i always forget in instance raids with all thats going on.

Anybody get this to work with the new patch 1.5?? Everything was working great before this, and now all my sound events are gone. When i go to set sounds in the menu system, it doesn't bring up all the sounds like it used to.
Any updates for fixes for this??
