if you use mapnotes or thottbot, you can type /tloc to see coords below the minimap. many other addons also do this, but with a different interface and/or command.

i read what it said on that link, but it is quite vague... i just started playing WoW like a few months ago. I would like to get add-on's because i will soon be raiding, but i would also like it to have other uses, maybe like find where an herb is on the map, etc.
What it tells me is that it probably can do all of this stuff, but it talks about scripting and i dont know script... so do i just have to download and then WALAH i can now do all the things i want (and upgrade frequently via thottbot, this site, or blizzard), or do i have to write it in script.
+ its not really my computer that i use, and the owner wants to make sure that its 100% safe, so yeah
thanks

cosmos is safe.
for herbs and such, check out gathereraddon.com and for raiding you'll probably want ctmod.net for the CTRaidAssist and CTRA_Bossmods
all of these, including cosmos, are widely used and kosher, just be sure to get them from the official sites

I have been playing WoW for a few months now, I have downloaded Cosmos and it isn't doing ANYTHING for me! I intalled it (may have installed it to the wrong place) and it doesn't do me JACK! How do I use Cosmos, or where do I go to get a reliable coordinates add-on that is easy to use? Because this is rediculous!

I've got the same problem as Ddiddy, i installed the addons and i followed the quick start guide, but nothing changed and the button that is supposed to be under the map isn't there.

I saw people who had two copies of WoW installation on their hard drive without knowing it, they installed addons to one copy, and were very surprised that the addons didn't show up when they start the other copy =)
Simply put if you don't have access to any addons after you installed them, you did something wrong. Installed to a wrong folder, somehow disabled them on the addon selection screen, etc. If you don't have even the 'addons' button on your char selection screen, then the addons is difinitely not were WoW trying to find them.

I experienced the same problem as this. While I am still investigating what triggered the problem I was able to find the problem and fix it. For some reason inside my AddOns folder a folder named Interface with a sub folder called AddOns was created. The only Items placed in the folder where the Cosmos downloads. Here is an example, C:\Program Files\World Of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns Is where the cosmos downloads should have gone however they ended up in C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons\Interface\AddOns. Most likely it was a problem with a default folder while using Winzip to extract the zip file that I overlooked. To fix the problem just move the Cosmos downloads into the c:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns folder and delete the additional Interface\AddOns Folders.

You probably told winzip to extract Cosmos to the addons folder instead of into the root wow folder. The Cosmos download includes the other folders (interface\addons) as you have found out.
Be aware that the post by Ddiddy is over a year old :D
