I can see why folks dump Cosmos

Not to be a jerk, but Cosmos lately is ticking me off. While I appreciate all the effort the developers have put into Cosmos, they are beginning to get DAoC fever--trying to fix things that ain't broke. What people really want in a mod is the simple things Blizzard left out, not all the useless fluff I have seen lately.

For Instance:
Sky Channel? ---Why in God's name was something like this introduced? And please, don't tell me to disable it. I now notice it is on my 'normal' version.
Auto Cosmos Channel--Love this one, upon entering the game I get forced into a channel that takes restarting the game to affectively get out of.
Assist Me--- To tell you the truth, I don't group with folks so stupid as not to figure out what assisting is.

Part of why I am so POed about this was spending a weekend getting disconnected every 5 minutes due to the lovely Alpha version I somehow toggled to update. Yes, I know what an Alpha version is, but I also noticed yesterday the updater automatically allowed me to toggle the 'normal' version, where as before I don't recall seeing that option.

Quit goofing with Cosmos guys, your work is appreciated, but one more weekend like this last one I'll just simply find a different mod that doesn't insist upon constant tweaking and addition of truly assinine 'new' features that are akin to adding tits to a boar.

Here is a really easy way to fix that... Don't Use the cosmos***** to update after patches. Do it yourself.

and, if you don't like buggy stuff, use teh release version. Alpha means "testing" version. "beta" is near release.

I never said I don't appreciate what they are doing. But, there is a common saying amoungst developers---If it aint broke, break it.
This constant addition of new features is NOT helping. Please show me what Sky channel is going to do for me. Leave well enough alone, update the damn thing when Blizzard patches, but quit with the new useless features.


When I first installed Cosmos, I heard from people saying, don't do it, it is bloated, it causes problems, you will regret it. I am beginning to now see why people rip this off and find different add-ons that don't suffer from developeritis.

You were running the Alpha version FFS. Just uninstall it if you are not happy. I CHOOSE to run the Alpha so I can help find the bugs. I take full responsibility for doing so as well. You will never see me post on these forums WHINING about what Cosmos did to my installlation of WoW nor what Cosmos may or may not have done in game. I take that upon myself.

They would be called "developers" if they didn't develop. They would be called "WriteItOnceAndDon'tFuckingTouchItAgains". I'd rather see them optimize code that is already written. This enhances the overall performance of the app. In the meantime, those that are running ALPHA should expect possible lag spikes, disconnects, so on and so forth that is associated with running Alpha.
