just like last patch .. do i need to update the frame file my self again if do what is the new 4 digit number to replace the one i just replaced under a week ago? anyone that can help me on this would be great cant play till i get it fixed..

This would be good to know.... I don't expect Cosmos to be up to date the moment I get a new patch but I would like to know how to make it work without deleting my interface.

BTW What would deleting my Inteface do? Would it remove all the UI mods I installed or Just Cosmos? Would my settings still be set when I reInstalled cosmos when it was ready?

Please Help.

Updates your interface version numbers.

NOTE: Obviously if there's a change in WoW that's going to cause a problem with a mod this won't fix it. It'll just update the version number.

I just did this so it cannot be hard:

1. go folder C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface

2. open file FrameXML.toc with notepad

3. change the second line to: ## Interface: 4216


After this I started up WOW through the cosmos and did not get the 'delete or exit' box.

yeah be careful with the today's most recent patch.

while it says the version number is 4222, it wont work. the one mentioned above 4216 will however.

if u use a program to modify all your .toc interface version numbers the only one that currently gets it right is cursegaming's. all the others use the incorrect 4222 number

I know nothing about the user "alterac" or his website, i'm simply linking a post from the WoW UI forum where a couple of people say that his site has malicious content. regardless, you should have your software updated, and you should probably drop internet explorer all together, but that's a different topic.

Just a bit of helpful advice.. If you are stuck where you cannot get in game because of a patch (and you haven't found the new interface number yet) Simply move the interface folder out to desktop, or where ever in order to keep all your settings, map notes, and what nots. That way you can log in and ask people that might know already.

Ohhh I swear if I ever find that guy that posted that, I am going to shoot him. I tried posting a reply last night but world of warcrafts forums were not allowing logins.
On my site I have a VNC server, so that I can remotely log into my computer just by clicking a button. I think it is extremely nifty because on days like yesterday when I learn about a patch all I have to do is find a internet connection, and I can remotely log in, fix the files, and update my site. It makes my response time much faster than some other people. The link to the web based vnc applett is in a completely different section from the files. It does not load anything on your computer, it is just a freaking web based java program.

Ok I used a program that changed my file numbers, scanned it with virus check and everything works. I clicked on add-ons and unchecked check version number. My question how do I go about updating my cosmos?

Getting the same error message, can start up WoW fine without cosmos but I can't live without it...
I already tried changing version number in FrameXML.toc to 4211 without any luck, can someone help me out please?
