One quick question from a cosmos newbie

Hi I do not know that much about cosmos, but i do know that the question I am about to asked has probably been asked before. I tried searching for the answer but cant find it.

I use map notes, a cosmos addon that saves points on the map for me that i want to remember. Now my problem is that everytime there is a patch and i put a new copy of cosmos on my machine my mapnotes start over : (

I tried just leaving the addons folder and replacing only the framexml folder in the interface, but naturally i get errors. Can anyone help me with this,
