I don't understand why it won't work anymore. I'm not getting a different UI by the way.

I tried installing and extracting the release.zip but nothing showed up in the game. Then I tried the Alpha, and I get about 40 error messages everytime I try to do something...

How can I start this process over befoer reinstalling or what the hell do I do? I can't play without Cosmos.

Have you disabled Version Checking in the Addons screen (accessible from the character selection screen, lower left hand button)?

What I do with a new version of Cosmos is, run the cosmos***** to uninstall the UI. Then delete the WDB and WTF (and Interface, if the cosmos***** didn't remove it) folders. Then, I log in to recreate the WDB and WTF. Reset my video and interface settings and log out. Extract new cosmos into WoW dir. Edit FrameXML.toc file if older ver of cosmos to reflect correct current patch #, otherwise just log in. Disable version checking @ the main character selection screen. Reset all cosmos/channel settings.

Alright I did everything you said, but when I log into WoW some of the Cosmos interface crap doesn't go away and my character doesn't show up. Oftentimes other people's clothes and stuff don't show up either. So then I update the exe by double clicking it....now Cosmos isn't showing up at all in the actual game but everything works fine. WTF?

Make sure you completly delete the interface folder between installs of the regular and alpha version of cosmos - they are vastly different at this point. You can't just drop the alpha on top of an existing installation anymore - you MUST delete the Interface folder to have any chance of success.
