WHenever I go into my character menu, or my social menu it freezes up and I get a real gittery lag. When I close the menu after about 10 seconds everything runs fine. When i'm in IF though the who character freezes and then i'm not able to play at all. IS there anything anyone can help me with. All this started from the new alpha patch. Please please help me.

I'm having this exact same problem. It occurs when I hit the character info window or the enchantment window for my mage. This doesn't occur with my rogue character.
The game freezes up, and all I can do is get out of the game and kill the process.
What's going on with this?

Delete the WTF\Account\(Your_Acoount_Name)\(Your_Character_Na me)\layout-cache.txt file. It holds positions of frames and is often the cause for FPS and lockup issues.
Each character has it's own file which is why you are having issue with one character and not another.

Can you just delete this file, without any harm to the system?

Yes. The game will just rebuild it using default frame locations if it's missing. No harm done what-so-ever.

Fair enough. I've now tried it, but alas nothing has changed.
Strangely enough, this time I noticed this message coming up, when I joined the server.
"Missing datagram: Gorthaur, id 12 segment: 1"
My character in question is named Gorthaur.
Should I uninstall the game, or will that make me delete the characters too?
Sorry, for my incredible n00bness, but I'm always afraid to remove something without any guidance first.

The missing datagram message is caused by a Cosmos addon. A developer will have to look into fixing that.
