Party Quests STILL broken...

So it's been weeks now, and I saw a few fixes to Party Quests in some of the patches, so I decided to re-enable it and see if it's working right. I find that it's still an all-or-none deal, making a great addon a complete piece of garbage. We're stuck choosing between no party quests at all or a two-pane thing that you have to mess with in order to get it to show the quest objectives. Here's one thing I noticed while I had Party Quests disabled... When I first open a quest in the normal game quest log (the one that doesn't suck) the objectives don't always show up immediately. Sometimes they show up as ": #/##" in the same way the Party Quests one does... *however* the game quickly refreshes it and displays the stuff that belongs before the colon. I think that the Party Quest two-pane sucky system would work right if the developers would perhaps have the quest pane refresh a few times after it's first opened to sync up with the game's delay in displaying objectives.

Also, has anyone noticed whether or not the abandoning quests thing works properly now, or will it still abandon the wrong quest after he quest log has been re-organized?

It has many more features than QuestMinion and you can enable PartyQuest also. Grab MonkeyBuddy so that you can customize MonkeyQuest with a UI.

I appreciate the suggestion, but still would like to see Cosmos working properly. It's pretty funny that people's fixes for Cosmos's bugs is to download outside addons that work right, yet I haven't seen any response from Cosmos devs regarding a lot of issues with the alpha release that have existed for a while. It's definitely been improved drastically since the last WoW patch, but I don't understand why they seem to be completely avoiding the PartyQuests subject.

Hopefully in the next few days we will get a new WoW content patch but that will break Cosmos all over again... :wink: but at least the new quest tracker will be in and working. That's probably why they aren't too worried about spending time fixing those bugs.

Still having problems abandoning quests. I have one I want to abandon, but it always chooses the one next to it. Can't figure out how to trick it to do what I want.

Now I have a problem where new quests aren't getting added to the screen and finished quests are disappearing. What is going on with PartyQuests?

I disabled Party Quests long ago. I'm of the opinion that Partyquests needs an Option tab in the Cosmos Configs to:

Use a unified or toggle/button quest-log frame.

and

Enable/disable the console spam with party quest progress (major gripe there, I could care less about my party's progress)

among other things.

HELP?! How can I turn OFF this Cosmos feature? Quests is so broken for me - it was simple quest minion, everything I could ever want. Now it doesn't refresh when I get new quests. It is gone from the menus. Is there a slash command to turn it off?

You can disable PartyQuests by going into AddOns at the char select screen and unchecking PartyQuests

A funny thing is my brother for whatever reason insists on leaving this thing enabled. So, most of the times he zones in or out of an instance he gets something saying "The party has completed quest blah" with blah being some random quest completely unrelated. I noticed something similar before I turned the thing off the last time where I'd occasionally get a message saying something like "You have completed quest blah" for a quest that either wasn't completed or had been completed a couple days before.

PartyQuest is going crazy after every cosmos updates.

It isn't updating the logs anymore that's for one.
and two, PArty Share of Sky just keeps on

New bug:

Back to Uldaman quest doesn't show in PartyQuests only in Blizz quest log. Quest count is correct, but quest is missing.

Something to look at: In the Blizz quest log there are two entries for Uldaman instead of one. Back to Uldaman is in the Uldaman group all by itself and doesn't show in PartyQuests.

Update: PartyQuests randomly switches between one Uldaman group of quests and the other. Please, please fix this.

Some quests (including also by the second Uldaman) are not displayed. Also at removal of any quest will leave not what is necessary.

Oh fine, I am not the only one. :-)

I tried several times to cancel a quest, only to find out a few mins later that i canceled 6 other quests that I don't know where to get them again. :cry:

Because of no "undo" in WoW this is a very dangerous behaviour.

Update:
Making the window not moveable and resetting its position seems to solve the "canceling the wrong quest" bug.

Sometimes when you click on a quest to show the quest text in PartyQuest, the quest text frame is drawn overtop the quest list frame. When the frames are non-movable this poses a problem. Closing the quest text frame closes both frames. Opening up PartyQuest again opens up both frames again on top of each other. And so on.

The workaround I've found to fix this problem is the following:

1) Open up the broken PartyQuest.
2) Open up the Cosmos Options (opens on the right - to the right of PQ).
3) Via the options click on PartyQuest to close it.
4) This should shift the Cosmos Options frame to the left.
5) Close Cosmos Options.
6) Open PartyQuest.
7) All should be back to normal.

Btw, all my windows non-movable, but MobileFrame is not disabled.
