Combat Log lost in Cosmos update

At some point last week after updating Cosmos, my Combat Log chat pane disappeared, only for my main character. I created a new one, but still haven't quite gotten the display options to what they were before. I was just wondering if there's a way to get the pane that existed before back when this happens without creating a new one and figuring out which options you had disabled. Also, is this a common problem?

Delete the WTF\Account\(Your_Account_Name)\(Your_Character_Na me)\chat-cache.txt file. It stores the chat configuration. Deleting it will cause the game to rebuiild from stock and combat should be back as normal.

Just sounded wierd, i know im just paranoid, but i delete my account name files? Did this work for other people? dont wanna mess anyhting up.

you delete only the chat-cache.txt file which controls where your chat is filtered to/colors and possibly chat window frames.
