Addon: ArtHider

My new addon, ArtHider, is a very small mod used to remove the left and right dragon art from the Main Menu Bar. The mod does NOTHING other than remove the art. No options to configure, no keybindings, nothing else!

To install the mod just drop the ArtHider mod into your ..\Interface\Addons directory. To remove the mod, either delete the ArtHider folder or just uncheck it from the Addons button at character selection.

1) Got any screenshots?

2) why not just use plain old .zip or .gz? (WinRAR reads .gz files)

i like 7-zip because it compresses everything much smaller than any compression software i've ever tried. so i try to promote it! especially being freeware/GPL they need all the advertisement they can get :) there's a *nix version of it as well.

sorry you're annoyed :) but once you get the 7zip you dont have to use pkware or winzip or any other spyware/ads/trial software anymore :)

anyway, i might try to get a screenshot up today. if i do post a screenshot, i'll also post the .zip version for everyone too.

Winrar can handle 7z files, so if you already use Winrar don't bother with 7z.

hmm, probably. i've never had a pet so i didnt know there was art on there too :) lemme see what i can come up with.

OK, i made a warlock and did the quest to get the pet. the warlock pet bar has no art.

i wasn't gonna make a hunter too, so i just messaged a few high level hunters. none of them have any dragon art on their hotbars - and most of them dont even use any addons. one is 100% free of addons, so itsounds like there's no pet bar art by default.

and, i coudln't find any PetActionBar calls that refer to art - so if you hvae art on the pet bar, i have no idea where it's coming from :)

I dont Know, it's default activated, with old second bar I could remove It but now it reappears as soon as i use any button on petbar, and it reappera over the secondbar^^.

Where a i could find info about this art?

Thank you for this mod. I hate the art and would love to get rid of it but I seem to haveing the same kinda issue as Azel. I have the addon in the right palce and it shows up under addons in WoW but the art is still there.

Any sugestions?

When I do releases (guild internal usually) I always put up a 7zip and a 7zip self-extracting. That generally shuts up the idiots who are too lazy or ignorant to handle 7z. The benefits of 7z go well beyond supporting open source software, smaller files = less bandwidth, and as these mods are given out for free those of us who distribute them take a LOSS doing so. Better compression = less money out of pocket. If you want your ass kissed as a "customer" go to walmart or whatever, if you want to join the human race we're waiting.

I went through the cosmos SecondBar code and found one line

when you get in game can you try something for me? make sure the arthider addon is installed & checked (active) in teh addons menu, and while in game, try to make the art appear on your petbar.

when you get the art on your petbar, type into any chat channel (without quotes)

"/script SecondBarRightEndCap:Hide()"

(if the command works, but ONLY removes the right side, issue this next command)

"/script SecondBarLeftEndCap:Hide()"

and see if the art disappears. i really wish i could replicate your problem in game, but it doesn't do this on my warlock, and the hunters i've asked do not have this problem.
