Problem with general channels

I have a problem with cosmos or maybe Sea or Sky, i don t know...
The problem is : i can t use general channels !
=> When i deactive cosmos etc i am able to connect to general by cliking right on general and activating the generals chanels.
=> When cosmos is activated i have error message saying "too many channel in list" and "channel name invalid"
In fact i desactivated those channels before and i tryed to enable them again, with no succes... With the staff i did, i added lot of bad channels in the list, i deactivated them manually but they seem to still be there in cosmos files and cause some problems..
I tryed to delete cosmos and reinstall it with no succes... always the same things.
It a problem in relation with cosmos because when i desactive the mod, all run right !
Please help me to repare it ! I sill want to use cosmos !

Sky is having problem staying in concert with the in-game channel menu. Suggest you not join channels with it using cosmos. Instead make all changes with /join /leave commands. Sky should be able to follow along.

Do a /chatinfo or /chatlist (same command) to list the channels Sky thinks you are in. Try leaving all channels by both number and name (i.e. /leave 1 and /leave General, etc..) and then re-join them by name starting with General and Trade and then any others.

Sky always puts General as 1 and Trade as 2. From this point on, Sky has a default list it uses - UNLESS you tell it otherwise. Use /join channel /#
where # is the number you want "channel" to be assigned. Sky should remember the assingment from this point on.

Finally, if you join a channel and can receive from but can not transmit on - NOW check the In-Game channel menu and if the checkmark is miising from that channel - check it and you should be able to transmit to the channel again.

Right. I got the same problem.. and i solved it partially with /join name and that but.. It still dosn't work really.
It says i join the channal but its totally quiet. Nothing is said on it. When i deactivate Cosmos i see alot of activity on the channals and when its on there is NO activity at all on the channals but i can keep on saying things on it without getting any visable replies.
And yes i havn't misspelt them or anything like that. I'm sure of it.

It has happend after logging in and out several times that the problem solves it self but hey.. thats annoying to keep logging in and out to solve it.

So.. any ideas?

Same type problem. in cosmos.txt sky update had something to with what channels show in what frame. on WoW official Tech Support forums I responded to the thread entiteld "Missing text . . ." with my half-assed solution to getting part/say/yell/trade/general/guild/etc shoing again, but /chatlist doesn't work at all and many other problems. Basially you have to go into the General chat frame options by clicking on it, expand Channels, and checkmark each channel you want to show in General, and the same for Combat. Basically they screwed it all up again adding in the "new and better features" of Sky. Hate to be a downer but getting old. Anyways, that's the workaround and an existing thread with a short term workaround until the Cosmos gang pushes a fix out. HOpe this helps and I"ll check back from time to time to see if there are questions or an update on this issue.

AH! But thats another problem. They are checked in the list. But when i uncheck them they TOTALLY disappears. Thanks to Sky.

So i gotta do the /join name thing again... wich obviously isn't really helping.
But as i said.. Logging out and in several times fixes the problem somehow. I've tested it now and it does work.

Also... by checking and unchecking the channal you want in the window several times fixes the problem to!
So... its tricky but possible to fix.

update: too early to think straight. easiest fix: delete your chat-cache.txt and that will reset all chat frame options to defaults. it is located in WoW folder\WTF\Account Name\Character Name\chat-cache.txt. delete that and restart all should be at default and you can tweak it back out to your heart's content.

Actually.. that didn't help either. It didn't move it to the default status.
It removed every channal settings, even the default.
So when i started i was in no channals at all but i DID have the windows left wich i adjusted earlier.

So i had to /join General etc etc again.....
Yesss i'm making it haard for you but i'm just pointing out that it didn't move it along to the default setting.

Default setting is that your IN the General, Trade, LocalDefense and LookingForGroup channals.
