First of all, thanks for the great set of tools known as Cosmos. I've been a faithful user ever since the day I got my hands on it, even though there have been bugs every now and then.
I have had a problem since I downloaded the latest Alpha. The messages that usually show up in yellow, such as winning/losing a duel, and when a friends comes online or goes offline, AFK, DND, and the sort are not showing. When a friend comes online, I hear that beep, but that's all. No message.
I have tried deleting the Interface folder, and installing Release, but to no avail. Friend notification, AFK, DND, are listed under "System messages" when you right-click the chat window options, but I cannot activate any of these either.
Could someone please give me a solution to this?

I am having this same problem, I am also unable to see the text when me or anyone else rolls for an item (which is a really big problem). I have looked through every setting I can find and nothing helps, does anyone know what to do?

Yes, I'm not seeing any yellow messages, including rolls (big problem) and /who's. Does anyone know how to solve this problem, short of reinstalling the game?

Yes, same problem here.
I actually used the combat log and General chat window in two seperate frames. When I connected after installing the last beta I only saw messages from the Trade channel, in white. Everything else was blocked out. Also, the chat and combat log were in the same frame again, in the bottom left.
We would like a fix that resets the chat windows back to original game settings, and gets the yellow messages back. If that's possible... cosmos team, please get to it.
I liked it the way it was.

Bump.
In the meantime, I'm uninstalling WoW now. From now on, I think I'll stick to the Release versions. =)

All you have to do is delete your WDF and WTF folders. This will reset all chat settings etc.

Yeah, I have the same problem...thought it would be no biggie until I leveled and I couldn't see what stats got boosted. I was like WTF!! I wanna know! So thats it? Cosmos doesn't support system messages anymore? major bummer. :(

I am not sure what is the problem with the system channels for you guys. There are some commands that I would like you to run but let me get them setup in a nice how-to so that we can track down the problem.
Just letting you know that we are listening but don't have anything as of yet but hopefully will be able to help shortly.

Well, here is what I do know. I had to re colour all my chats. Everything was either turned off or went white. That's how I figured out that I wasn't seeing my rolls, there wasn't a check in the loot option. As for system messages, I coloured that but I can't see them and I cant' seem to "CHECK" system messages. I assume that it's because system messages are always on therefore do not require a check mark. I do see thottbot enabled and welcome to WoW when I login but that's the last system message I see for the rest of the time I'm logged. I cannot see what I group loot (money) when I lvl I dont' see my stats, when I accept or abandon a quest I just hear the noise, no system messages when someone comes online or off but I hear the sound there too. I just think it's OFF ok. Find a way to turn it on...there are lots of pple with this problem, my whole guild that uses cosmos can't read them so you best figure out what happened.

I second that... my entire chat got messed up. I still don't have the colors and filters back to their original settings.
I can't see /who and /invite responses either.

This worked for me. I backed them up first though just in case.

Something that worked for me as a temporary fix (backup your chat-cache file before):
Open in WinWord or WordPad the file (coding = UTF8):
\WTF\Account\<Name>\<character>\chat-cache.txt
Search for the keywords "WINDOW 1"
Just after "WINDOW 1" you will find the entry "MESSAGES"
Enter "SYSTEM" under "MESSAGES".
Note:
WINDOW 1 = default message window
WINDOW 2 = default combat log window
WINDOW 3 = additional message window... etc
It worked for me.
