Recently in a thread on the EU WoW boards (http://forums-en.wow-europe.com/thread.aspx?ForumName=wow-suggestion-en&ThreadID=20763) we collectively decided that while meeting stones are all well and good they don't work because no one uses them.
I did suggest on that thread a possible alternative (http://forums-en.wow-europe.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-suggestion-en&t=20763&tmp=1#post20763) to the current meeting stone system so here I am to put it to the devs of cosmos :)
In paticular I noticed that sarf has considered the idea previously (http://www.cosmosui.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=258) but dismissed it because of issues with chat channels. I presume those issues have evaporated now that Sky exists?
I also stumbled across an addon (http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod.php?addid=245) that does basically what I suggested on the WOW EU forums but because no one else is using it, its pointless. Having such an addon in a big compliation mod such as cosmos seems to be the only way to make such an addon worthwhile.
To those that can't be bothered to click the link and read the EU forum thread I basically suggested a dialog box that would do the following:
Set yourself LFG and which set instances/quests you want do.
If your party leader, set your group LFM for a paticular instance(s)/quest(s) but also what classes/levels the group needs.
Also have some way of searching for group leaders/players who match what you want.
Maybe there could be some automagical 'guts' to it that will try and match LFM and LFG people up much like the meeting stones try to do.
I presume that if this was a cosmos addon it could intergrate with PartyQuests. So for example you could look in PartyQuests and see if there were any/how much LFM parties or LFG people for paticular quests/zones/instances that are in your quest log and have the option of joining the party or inviting people.
