Ummm... what does Cosmos DO?!?

Greetings!

I have had several people in game as me about whether I had CosMos installed. I finally decided to bite the bullet and install it. Well, I downloaded it off this site and did... but... um... now what? There is a BUNCH of addons now in the addon section, including one with strange names like Sky and Earth. I have no idea what any of them DO however, and I couldn't find any documentation on this site or in the download. Is there instructions or a manual somewhere? Thanks for your help!

Cosmos is a collection of Ui(user interface) addons. Some you may find useful, some you may not. An easy example is open your map, with cosmos installed you will see x,y coordinates at the bottom of the map, white numbers is your mouse location, green is where your char is standing. Usefull if you are trying to find somone or something (Thottbot.com gives the same coordinates alot of the time)

If you look near your minimap there should be a new blue icon, click that to open the cosmos menu and you'll see options for most of your addons.

Hmmm, well I don't see that even after I activated the CosMos Addon. I do get a strange message that all of my addons are out of date, and should be updated. I run the CosMos updater, but it said all my files were fine. Is there some other change I need to make?

You are using the release version of Cosmos. Although it's officially called a stable release it's mostly outdated because of the few release updates. The updater is also set to update if there's a new release version available and thus finds nothing new.

If you want the latest version of Cosmos with the most recent addons you should use the alpha version instead and set the updater to look for a new alpha release. It's updated almost daily. There might be bugs around but they are also fixed very quickly.

PS: I really wonder why there is a release version at all because nobody really wants to or should use it. It just causes confusion in my opinion.
