We cleaned house for Cosmos 2 and the following addons were removed due to incompatibility or lacking a coder to adopt the maintainence of the addon:
AlarmClock
BetterKeyBinding
CastTime
CombatStats
DivineBlessing
MapNotes
MonitorStatus
Weapon Buttons
If you would like to adopt one of these addons and become responsibe for its maintainence, please send a note to alex@cosmosui.org and if you are willing and qualified, you can help bring these addons back into Cosmos.

Seem to have lost Pop Bar as well.
I liked the extra bars hiding under the lower right bar.

Uh oh. What's up with Map Notes?
Do you maintain a developer's forum where you list the incompatibilities? So someone would know what an undertaking getting involved in the source would be?

 i took a day to calm down before i posted anything. i know this program is free and you guys have put some hard work in to making something for everyone to use for free if they wish. it to me, has become apart of the way i play the game. with out it i am lost. there is so much changed that i cant even begin to try to fig it out, do to my frustration of the lost of a config that i have developed over the past 5 months.
if there is a way to install a earlyer ver. and just not up date i would be very happy with that . plz make it so.

THX FOR A GREAT WORK!!!!

What's so hard to understand about addons were removed due to incompatibility or lacking a coder to adopt the maintainence of the addon?

I'm sure you can talk Alex into letting you step up as maintainer of MapNotes provided you have the skills required.

For me, Map Notes is the most important addon in Cosmos. Unless it is a part of Cosmos 2, I won't use the new UI suite. You should consider reprioritzing the addon's you're migrating.
Or, perhaps there is a stand-alone verion of Map Notes that can be used along side Cosmos 2?
Something else to add. The Addons are missing from the ALPHA build, if you feel like you can't live without them (and are unwilling to adopt the maintnance of the addon) use the RELEASE version. Part of the reason Alex posted the list was to get the word out that these addons have been orphaned and need someone to adopt them in order for them to be included into the new Cosmos!

I use cosmos everyday just like the rest of you people. Cosmos has issues if you decide to run the ALPHA version. I dont think any of the people that work hard on cosmos like to hear a bunch of bitchin about how they messed up. I believe that this thread was made to inform people about the changes in hopes they could get some help, so unless you can offer that help (by help I also mean constructive crit on what you as a user would want from cosmos and possible bugs that might occur, not bitching) then lay off. I sure these people do not get paid for this and have normal jobs they work 5 days a week at, then they have to miss beautiful WOW time on this code. Give them a break and if you just want to complain use something else or just run the RELEASE version.
And to the civilized people just making suggestions or asking questions about which addons they like and use this is not for you.

Until Blizzard fixes the bogus Herb/Vein nodes that make you stay in squatting position, MapNotes are a must.

Ok, so I've e-mailed about maybe taking up WeaponButtons (and *maybe* popbar) and it was suggested that I familiarize myself with LUA...so..should i just nab the addons from the release version and squeeze them until they fit in with khaos?
If I get to a point where i can safely use IRC in game, I'll try stopping by...

I have both Cosmos 2 AND the old Map Notes running side by side, no problems (other than the "send map note" feature remains nonfunctional)
I seriously love the new features! The revamp is awesome, and the incremental improvements are very nice too.
thanks!

The latest CombatStats (4.8 I think) works fine together with Cosmos. Some other author picked up updating the addon after the original one stopped updating.

I'm not exactly sure what the code criteria are for those addons to be reincluded..

I'm willing to pick up support for MonitorStatus. I sent a couple emails to alex, but not response yet.

The issue is that without a developer these addons will eventually break. I'm glad the you were able to find a working version, but like a car, an addon needs regular maintenance. Eventually the blizzard UI will shift, cosmos will shift, and mapnotes won't. If you are really dependent on mapnotes, than it's time to go fishing in the developer community and try to hook a developer to takeover the maintainance of the mod. The original creators of these mods left. Is that somehow cosmos's fault? Then why all the hostility?
The cosmos team has a lot on their plates. They didn't make the choice of what was removed or not removed. The original developer of the mod did, when they stopped making updates to their mod. The cosmos team can't pickup maintainabce of every addon once a developer decides to stop working on it.
I'm sorry about seeming harsh here. I'm getting tired of everyone blaming cosmos for this type of thing. Blame the original developer leaving, not cosmos.

i am able to run combat stats with the alpha version of cosmos.
i even tweaked a few things so it tracks my shaman heals and WF procs (both 1 and 2 attack versions tracked).
i wanted to track heals so i can better determine the impact of plus healing gear.
i also added a print to combatstats so it shows my totem placing spells in my chat window. this is very nice for those totems that do not display in the upper right, like WF for example.
i have some programming experience but .lua is mostly new to me. i doubt i can support combat stats without help.

Get Recap.
It does damage stats for you, and everyone around you. Much MUCH MUCH better.
