Hey all, I used to play WoW all the time until I got busy with work for the last 4 months. I started again recently and updated my cosmos, and surprisingly it is now the biggest TURD of software I've ever seen.
All I want from it is what it offered back in the day. Quest minion, clock, action bars, combat caller and DPS tracker.
What is all this new crap? Why did something so good have to get bloated with useless stuff that, judging from posts, isn't even supported anymore?!?!
How do I get a GOOD version of cosmos, or at least better tips about what all the freatures are? I'm trying to turn stuff off in addons and the descriptiong doesn't even tell me what the addon does?? seriously WTF?!?! "Sea - an organized function library" very informative!!!!
Just give me the basics please, I don't need your flashy junk.
Way to turn an incredible tool/mod into a piece of garbage.

The "biggest TURD of software" you've ever seen has evolved, simply put.
New stuff gets added in, old mods that are no longer supported by their authors get taken out.
If you don't like what Cosmos has become, quite simply, don't use the mod. The individual addons you want are freely available from sites such as ui.worldofwar.net and curse-gaming.com.
As for descriptions, if you'd attempted to read up on Cosmos you'd know that Sea's function in Cosmos is "to make the process of writing new World of Warcraft UI mods faster and simpler." (Taken from www.wowwiki.com). It's not a 'direct mod', it allows other mods in the collection to function, mods which without Sea would, I expect, be very hard to code if not impossible perhaps, though I admit I am no coder myself.

You're right, I have an opposing opinion so I must be a troll. Sorry if I don't like this software, but that is exactly why I was asking how to turn off the stuff I don't like. Or atleast where to find documentation on what is and isn't supported. I have lots of error pop ups in game and it's very annoying.
If something isn't supported anymore there's no reason to not remove it. If I have to spend hours digging through the internet to find explinations on how to use a mod it's not worth my time. Cosmos now sucks.

Cosmos is hardly any different than it has been since release other than revamps in code and a new configuration panel, there has been "Flashy junk" in Cosmos all along, not sure what version you ever got. Most addons which have been removed are now covered by the default UI which is why they were removed, and all but one you mentioned are still there. You can have all the basics you want if you learn how to disable stuff without hand holding.
You don't like it, there are other mods. But the attitude you bring won't get a single thing changed, you are wasting your breath.

Dear original poster.
What a shame... the dev team officially anounced that addons witout coder won't be maintained bu ghost!!! that is a shame of course.
If no one can work on a addon, we cannot continue to use it as no one got time/skill/interest in maintaing it.
in response to the "OMG I can't find anything, cosmos changed alot"
Damn, if you didn't realised that the only major thing that changed was the way you configure option... to add more user-friendly capability.
Well, since you didn't even used more than 2 brains cell tonight, we will try to start the seconds one: check the pannel, there is a "dificulty" setting... try increasing it to see more options in your addons...
Besside that, if you got alot of time to spend, you can write documntation intead of trolling.

another sidenote: the "release" package is an 2 month old, you can use it, good luck with 1.7 patch, you will need some with that version.
