Sence you going towards a launcher to replace the main WoW launcher. I think it would be great to have majority of the features of the standard launcher. I personaly like how yours works more then the standard one. So in these times when test realms are online it would be nice to have that option to select the start of the test realm instead of the normal version of WoW.
I hope you can follow what I am talking about/asking?
I am useing the new v3.0.3
Thanks for you time,

I believe an option to launch the wow launcher, after loading the cosmos stuff is in the options of the new cosmos downloader.
As for the chance to launch the test relm instead, Good idea! :D

Yes very good idea and easy to implement I just need to know the Test programs name for windows and mac. I'd look myself but I don't have access to wow at the moment.
And yes you can go into the options and specify that the launcher is run instead of wow.

when running on the wow test server it read out of the directory i
c:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WoWTest
In this folder is a complete othe install for running on the test server the name of the runable exe is wow*****.
so if you add a Live Server button and a Tset Server button you just need to point the live to the way its run now and the test buttonto the wow***** in the test folder. and what ever eles you need to add of couse. im not a programer so not sure what eles would be involved

So does that mean a whole new interface folder as well? And if so does the game take care of copying from the current interface folder or do you have to copy them yourself.

i have been playing on the test server and it creats a whole other install for login on to the test server. including a new INTERFACE folder aswell. so you would have to point the cosmos patcher to updated the test folder interface folder when loging in to the test server. as far what i can see there is NOTHING copied from the current Live Server interface folder its a new install for the stet server by its self
the folder for the test interface is:
C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WoWTest\Interface\AddOns
when when there is a new cosmos update you have to put the file sin the test interface folder your self.
i use tha alpha version on Cosmos UI so i stoped trying to run the UI on the test server due to the many updates.
help this helps

I plan on adding support for the test server soon. Will have to look into the error later.

dormlock, you can add a "Launch Test client" button, but I recommend against trying to update AddOn files in the test client's interface folder. The reason is that we don't have a public version of Cosmos that supports the test realm environment. More often than not the public version of Cosmos (intended for the live realms) does not work on the test realm with the new patch.

With regards to this, I understand the idea behind your concern. A potential compromise is to add a button and functionality to copy all current cosmos settings and files to the test realm folders. This would be the current release of course and potentially unstable under the test realm. However this would allow those of us who do use the test realms to at least migrate our settings over efficiently.
This is not without understanding that you are bound to have people trying to get support for a feature such as this. Add a popup disclaimer and call it good. In addition, if some users are using this feature, you might consider allowing them to download an alpha version of the test realm updates (to the test realm folders), not without a non-support disclaimer of course.
If after that, some ignoramus decides to copy a test realm alpha version over his live server version, so be it. Remember that your development team shoud not have to provide support for every person messing with things they shouldn't be messing with. Most of the users that even touch the test realms are often more experienced than the rest and I don't forsee this creating to many headaches for your team. Possibly you might even consider being able to toggle the Cosmos launcher into a 'Test Realm Mode' from where you could access these features and keep it seperated from the default functionality of the Cosmos launcher.
Just a thought, thanks!
