I have seen a couple of posts on this and no answer yet. I am experienceing the same thing, with no firewall in place. The version I am using is 3.0.3.83. Is there any way some light can be shed on this. I saw the other post "Cosmos won't install" was checked almost 200 times. Thanks.

I don't know how Cosmos***** network communication handling is written, so not 100% sure how to interprate the error.
If it isn't a firewall, then perhaps your simply having a bad internet day and it will go away after trying again.

Would win 64 play a role in this? I saw a post that suggested alpha or relase manual install. I guess I am not sure of the differences between these and the standartd Cosmos_Win file, and whether or not 64 plays a roll. Does having 64 effect what to install? Thanks.

The old Cosmos***** doesn't work on 64, the addons isn't effected by platform.
What's your locale setting?
I got same error message before. Everytime the new patcher downloads files to about 60%, then the error msg pops.
I change my locale from "Chinese (Hong Kong S.A.R.)" to "English (United States)", then the error is gone.
