I dont quite see the need for it to allow an install of an addon at all actually, since you can only choose one addon at a time to install it is 10 times faster to just unzip the addons u need installed and then move them to the addon folder.

But anyway i opted for the only protect option :D

i think maybe its asking if we want it to be able to install and protect an addon in a single operation, or ONLY install / ONLY protect in each operation... which doesnt even make sense.. again, please clarify

tal is correct the updater currently only allows you install or protect an addon when at the installer window not both.

The behavior has already been changed in for the next version to allow you to install a protected addon. The installer window will have a protected addon unchecked for install when it comes up and you then can click to install it even though it's protected.

Also you can choose to protect an addon from the window and not install it.

If you don't use the installer window then it'll skip the protected files when updating.
