The new patcher doesnt work with multiple monitor support under Windows XP. The windows almost always go off the screen onto the secondary display which for me is almost always turned off. Until this is fixed, I cannot use it. Anybody know where to get the old patcher? It used to work flawlessly but it got deleted when I installed the new one.

Edit: Found the old patcher.

I have no issues with it on multiple monitors, it always appears in the center of my main monitor.

Obviously there is something wrong. The old patcher always displays in the center of my main monitor. The new one never does. I'm not changing anything on my system to make the old patcher behave differently from the new one.

Me either and i have two monitors on my PC. Are you running dual on a Mac?

I'll look into it and see about making sure it goes to main window.

No, I'm running Windows XP. I think I figured out how to replicate the problem though.

Assume your left monitor is Display #1 and your right monitor is Display #2. By default, Windows makes Display #1 the primary display and Display #2 the secondary display. However, in my case, I wanted Display #2 to be my primary display since it sits right in front of me and my other monitor (Display #1) is off the side to my left. With this setup, the patcher does not store its settings. However, if I configure Display #1 to be my primary display, the patcher will save its setting on both monitors.

Unfortunately, Windows will not let me set which display is what and the monitor I use off to my left (Display #1) is actually shared with another computer (the digital input goes to my other computer and the analog input goes to my main pc - there are buttons on the monitor to switch inputs).

I see whaat your saying my layout is similar but the primary connection is display one and the left extended side is number two. I also take it that display 2 has the menu bar?

I guess I could add something that will allow the window to remember it's position so that once you move it somewhere it'll come back up there.

In my configuration, my start bar is on the right display. Basically, whatever display is listed as "promoted" in the Display Properties, windows will put the start bar on it and display apps/games there. So when the left display is promoted, the start bar is there, apps show there, and cosmos remembers its settings. When I promote the right display, windows moves the start bar there, apps show there, but cosmos no longer remembers its location.

I looked into it and found that the placment of the window was default. I switched it to main screen and added the ability of the window to remeber where it was last located. It will reset it self is it goes out side of the monitor area on one monitor haven't played with it yet under a dual setup yet.

So, after losing all my wow addons and saved settings to a bad block on my hdd, I decided to start fresh. I deleted my interface folder and WTF folders. Downloaded the latest patches from the website - v3.8(0) r3418 - and proceeded to rebuild my wow mod library. I encountered a ton of errors though. I will start a new thread about them but I wanted to update this one as I am still having problems with multiple monitor support.

Whatever you guys did last time to fix the patcher to remember which window it was run under works now for the main display. Good job. However, any sub-windows that the patcher creates (like if you click on manage addons) will always display on my secondary monitor instead of my primary one. It would be nice if those "child" windows could behave like the "parent" one.

I'm experiencing the exact same thing. I assumed it was a configuration issue with nVidia's nView feature (and it may well be). What sucks is that my main monitor is assigned #2 by my video drivers, and there isn't anything I can do about that.
