The last time I updated with cosmos***** (Alpha) was a couple days ago and it was fine. This time I ran cosmos*****, like I do right before I run WoW every time, and the updater went delete crazy. For some reason it deleted every single non-cosmos addon. All these addons had a folder with addonname.nopatch sitting right next to them. I look now and all the .nopatch folders are gone. Now, I did not delete them, so what happened? Did cosmos***** decide to ignore them and delete everything anyway? Also, the folders of the non-cosmos addons are all still there, they're just empty, which I think is a pretty stupid way to "clean" since you have to look in all the folders to see what's there and what's not.

I grabbed everything out of the recycle bin and put it all back, but now I have to recreate the .nopatch folders for every single addon, and I have a lot so this will be a real pain in the ass. So what happened??

They seem to have gotten rid of the need to put nopatch files in there. Now all the protecting work is done within the patcher in the "Manage Addons" window.

I see. Well I was actually still using the old cosmos*****. I didn't even know there was a new one. I've downloaded and configured the new one now, but that still doesn't explain what happened to all my .nopatch folders now. Though I am glad I don't need them anymore. Oh well.

For the moment, the new patcher uses a unified NoPatch.nopatch file. You can protect all non-cosmos addons using a button in the addon manager.
