Default Khaos v2.2
Cosmos Team

Thanks to the surveys and interviews recently conducted we have narrowed down what we think users use most out of Khoas and where they have the most difficulty.

This is the resulting changes:

[Khaos] v2.2
- Changed collumn widths to make more of the addon names visible
- Difficulties changed to a single "Advanced Options" checkbox, default unchecked
- Added blank configuration section text
- Configuration section now scrolls slower with the mouse wheel
- Added addon dependancy trees to the addon list
- Addon help text now shows unloaded required dependancies in red.
- Right clicking an addon now selects the addon as well as shows the dropdown menu
- Removed configuration categories/tabs/folders
- "Set Default" popup is now only used at the beginning before a configuration has been selected. To select the default afterwards simply check the box next to it in the selection menu or right click and select "Set to default"
- Fixed help "?" icon hover text
- Changed all tooltips to use the help text format at the bottom of the frame
- OnShow now re-centers the window if it hasn't been manually dragged.

There is also plans for an extensive in-game help menu, but it is still a work in progress.

The only thing I'm uncertain about in the changes we've made is the addon list. You can now see dependancies and load them easier but it might also be a little more confusing, so I'm still taking suggestions if you have an idea as to how it might be laid out better.

Lets us know what you think!

Very nice
My thoughts :
Difficulties - Excellent idea to get rid of these.
Configuration section now scrolls slower with the mouse wheel - Personally, I find it too slow now. But I can see that this will be of help to most, so will live with it
Dependencies - Look good to me. One possibility - when you click on the addon the dependencies appear in the right-hand window, with a title to that effect. You could also have in the right-hand window (when khaos first starts) something like "Click on an addon in the central window to get access to its options. Tick/untick an addon to enable it. Click the + next to Addons for a full list of the addons installed. From the full list, click on the addon to see its dependencies (other addons that are required for the selected addon to run). Visit www.cosmosui.org for more info.".
Fixed help "?" icon hover text - I've never noticed the ? before, or maybe I never noticed what it actually did While I was checking out the help text I noticed that TellTrack has a strange suggestion "Click the question-mark corner for more info.". Clicking the ? does nothing. Maybe clicking it can make the message I suggested above re-appear. Also, I think you should remove the fade effect for the help text. I find that it fades out before I finish reading some of them.

Anyway. All in all. A good job.

That TellTrack hint is for the TellTrack window, not the Khaos window.

Ah yeah. I see it now. Rather confusing to me, let alone someone new to Cosmos

Looks good, although I was a bit confused the first time I saw the new Addons list. (I totally forgot that I had updated it same day and couldn't understand why the h*** it suddenly looked different ;p)

It would be nice if there were two advanced option check boxes. One that adds the left multiple profile pane, and one that extends the individual addon options. I have never used the multiple profiles, but I do use the extended options of the addons.

Talking of the profiles. I've messed about a bit with them and they are quite useful. But, what would really make them exceedingly good would be if we could load the addons per profile. I don't have a clue whether this is possible as Khaos is game side and not pre-loading side. But it would be nice to have this facility
